As far as answering your question about the rooms...if you are looking to keep it on the cheaper yet luxurious end, the "Ocean Front" room in the Pyramid building has a great view. Everyone has their own taste when it comes to what they like to view when they are in their room. The Club Tower Ocean Front room, I am guessing, is even better, but obviously costs a little more.
Lots of sun would probably mean their summer time which is around March-May. June is the start of rainy season and while we were there, it did rain during the day for a few hours and some nights.

Most of our guests opted for the cheapest room, the garden view. However, many of them got upgraded to Ocean Front or the Tower rooms. One of them, who got 2 rooms, got upgraded to a Junior Jacuzzi Suite. That room was awesome! We got upgraded to a Honeymoon Suite.

It's really up to you if you want to take your chances.

yikes. How often did it rain while you were there? Was it an isssue for you> Did you see any weddings get rained on? (my worst fear)

I took a June date becuase it was all they had left (first choice was May) - and the rain is my biggest concern.

I guess beginnng of June is better than towards the end like ours. We got lucky! The day after our wedding, it rained hard in the evening. Two days later, it rained all day. The next day it was sunny again.

There was a wedding with a party of about 20 people who had their ceremony in the Gazebo prior to the rain and had their reception indoor in the Tower Lobby. I guess it was not as bad since there's room to move around inside. Had they had a bigger party where people need air to breath (it's pretty hot inside), it would have been very uncomfortable.

For those who have visited Dreams Cancun, what size cups did they serve? I've heard from some that they are getting stadium cups customized because the cups the resort uses are dixie cup size (or just about), and found a large cup very helpful. However, others have said their resorts had large cups and guests didn't use them.

Do you think stadium cups would be useful for the guests?

I asked this question a few months back and someone told me that the cups are big but you usually get a bottle.

Can anyone tell me exactly how far in advance I should submit my wedding request form? I am on a funky work schedule and actually have to "bid" for my vacation time. It goes in order of senority, and I cant do that till January 2009. Does Dreams book their weddings really fast? How does 8 months sound? Is that far enough in advance?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
