Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

I had requested Chrisitan for my hair after everyone's advice. Daniella requested him for me but says it is not a gurantee, just FYI.

I plan on doing just the tulle on the gazebo, after hearing everyone's awesome advice I think that is all that is needed.

Jodey I am with you on this i feel like its stilll far away but everytime I mention the wedding to someone they seem to say THEY ARE GOING...Lol Its freaking me out becaues like you its going to make me cut things out i really wanted to have to pay for the pp deal.

Has anyone tried to ever find out why the hell we have to pay per person if everyone is staying at their hotel?? it just doesnt make any sense my agent was stunned because she said not alot of all inclusive places charge per person if the people are their guests and have already paid for the all inclusive package!!

Anyone have any suggestions around this??

Oh sorry I just read the response to my question..lol (Note to self dont start reading the thread from the end to the front..lol

I understand your points its just crazy when you think of it as getting close to 90$ per person.. I really hope the food is really good and the liquor is not watered down.

I just responded back to Daniella with my Q&A and my date. What should i expect next?? I am anxious sorry about it :)

My MOH and I are both wearing wedge shoes. I have a reception on the beach so there will be no "sinking". I am also encouraging my lay guests who normally wear heels to do the same.

I've gone from thinking "theres gonna be no one there with us to celebrate" to "oh my god it looks like we're gonna have alot more people than what we thought" and our budget just keeps rising, I wished I hadn't invited all the people we did now before I knew about the additional charges PP, does that sound really selfish ? Its just I really think we're gonna have to cut back on the extras that I really wanted to accomodate more guests, I know this may sound silly because our wedding is still so far away but when you have a figure in your mind and it keeps creeping up its quite scary,AAARRRR !
I am not decorating the Gazebo. I didn't want to waste money on something that already looks so nice. As for chair bows, for me, those are a definite. I like the way they look. Also, I was considering upgrading my cake but from what jilly said I may reconsider myself.

Also, just remember, your wedding is a ways away and some of your guests, no matter how sure they are about going, may end up not going. Nothing is definite until they actually book.

So with the ultimate package it says you have three hours of an international bar.. after that what happens? You stop getting beers? You have to go get your own? I guess it's not a big deal 'cause we can always go hit one of the bars up right? What site would you all say is the best for the reception? I kinda want the beach but I am afraid of rain. If I pick the beach and it rains and I already book that DJ dude I am kinda screwed Hmmm any ideas?

Thanks for your words of wisdom ! Its just the not knowing of the "end budget" thats quite scary, I'm a very impatient person, I just wish people could give me a desission now and either book or say no we can't, I was even thinking of giving people a dead line for booking eg they need to have booked at least 6 months before we go but I could think of a reason to give LOL ! Has any one else given a dead line for booking ?

Oh that's a good idea...they would be easier to walk down the aisle in. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
