Okay please don't hold this against me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that people can just sneak in. My FI has been to Cancun a dozen times and him and his pals just hop around to different resorts (they rent a house on the beach without a pool...). For only one day, how are they really going to know?

I swear, I am always the one trying to corrupt the forum!

She is probably right. As long as they don't check at the reception somehow.. I bet they could

The resort is small enough they get to know you.

We had only been there a day and all the staff I encountered knew I was the one getting married on Saturday.

If you try to walk down from the next resort on either side, there is security there with a clipboard with all current names.

So I would not try it.

I had two friends show up to drop something off and they would let them in.

So the night of the welcome dinner we paid $40 each for 4 people.

The day of the wedding they were covered in the cost of the wedding.

Paula since your such a recent bride.. Why is it that we have to pay per person if you go over 20 ppl. (ultimate package) if my guests are all inclusive since your staying in the hotel? I went to my TA yesterday and she didnt seem to agree that this is the way it works but im pretty sure i have read on here that you pay lets say the base price for the package and once you go over the 22ppl allowed you have to pay per person. Am i wrong??

The package only includes 20 people, any guests over that you pay per person. children are half price.

I think we all had a hard time initially dealing with the concept of paying for our guests to eat at an all inclusive, but you have to realize, you are not only paying for food, these fees cover the costs of having your own servers for your function and all of the setup. If you think about it, you are having a private event, which requires more staff. And the servers at our wedding were fantastic! We never had to wait for anything, anything we wanted, they were there to serve us and they were great!

What she said :)

I honestly didn't have a problem with paying extra and the whole we-are-already-at-an-all-inclusive because of the things Jill said.

In my head I compared it to what we would have paid anywhere here in the US and it was so inexpensive there.

We mainly chose Dreams because of its size, location and beautiful wedding site.

The all-inclusive was convenience the rest of the time we were there.

I totally agree with Paula and Jilly, at first I admit I went steaming ahead inviting everyone who I could think of thinking that there may be a handful out of the 40 ish guests but as it happens most of them are comming which is fab but it wasn't untill I started the ball rolling that I realised the package was only for 20 ppl, all I can say is its a good job for me that I've got plenty of time to save for all these extras LOL !

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
