Recommended Posts

I just want to say that everyone is wonderful and everyone does appreciate all of the advice that everyone has given....my best friend had a destination wedding a couple of years ago and she has given me some great advice...these forums are wonderful...my friend told me that she skipped the cocktail hour and just had the reception...i thought that was a good idea....and so I am doing that and in return am getting 10 more people for my reception that I don't have to pay extra for...I just think it's a wonderful idea for people who are having like 40 or more people....my friends wedding was awesome and I never noticed that she did not have a cocktail hour...just an idea i guess.....

I did the same thing, for the longest time I couldn't figure out that you needed points to open attachments, it really confused me! But when I first joined I was the only dreams cancun bride, so there weren't very many attachments for me to open, lol!

I really don't mind answering questions for people, but its hard for me to find the time to email information to people and a lot of the information I had originally posted, I don't even have on my computer anymore.

I totally understand. It is frustrating on both ends... one person trying to learn from the one person teaching seven million lol

I'm doing the same thing! It is a nice comprimise to still have a formal reception but not completely break the bank. There will be plenty of cocktails flowing at the dinner!

Hi Ana!

Posting helps up your number of points.
Refer to the lower left hand corner of the screen.
I just donated some points to help look at some of the attachments.
I would suggest looking through this entire thread first as there are several links that don't require you to use points.

Also do a search (upper right) for Dreams Cancun, there are some other thread with pictures out there.

Hope this helps!

I am soooo glad to hear that! I have no use for a cocktail hour and with my hefty guest load (between 30-50) I can certainly use the credit toward the reception. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
