Just wanted to respond to the suggestions about the tequila... Thanks very much - it probably makes a lot of sense to just run out to the markets when we get there and grab some from a local vendor ourselves - that would save a bunch of money I'm sure - plus it would be fun !!!

As for Katherine's bags, they were from Dreams - they had the logo and everything - I uploaded in the "guest gift bag.zip" file. She had said she got them from her travel agent, so I would think that Claudia would be able to get them from the hotel if they still have them. Anyways... I have asked my TA, and we shall see...

Joanna,

I am in the same boat as you, even though I posted many of the docs, I can't open other people's stuff - not enough points. I sent a PM to Jill the moderator about the best ways to build up points, but I think it will come down to participating more. If you want to send me an email at:

hmueller19@charter.net or

hans.mueller@inbox.com

I will send along the docs I have. To answer your questions, I doubt 2009 prices are even being thought of yet - Dreams just released 2008 pricing so use that as a guide. With regard to location, you can use any location as part of the packages. It will depend on the size of your reception, and your preferences. The costs are the same, only the decor addons, # of meals, etc will be different depending on your size.

Welcome aboard !!!

Welcome! I booked my date at Dreams Cancun earlier this month for November 20, 2008. It is a Thursday so I think that is why it was available. I think at least a year is good, but you never know what will be available or what will open up. When are you thinking of?

Just curious what the reasons for Dreams Cancun over Cabo are? I thought about Dreams Cabo but I did comparisons on flights from all of the locations that most of my guests will be coming from and it was more expensive for a lot of locations to fly to Cabo and about the same across the board for Cancun. Plus reviews were better overall for Dreams Cancun on TripAdvisor.

It is my impression that if you are coordinating and booking your wedding with '08 prices before '09 is even out, you'll use '08 prices. I guess Paula can confirm that for us when she gets back, she was in the same boat for arranging under 2007 prices and getting married (now!) in 2008. I think someone said it but all of the reception spots cost the same, you pay for the meals per person (starting at 20 people+ depending on if you get one of the packages).

Go welcome some newbies and get some points! Congratulations!

We are leaning towards fall of 2009. We will be coming from Massachusetts, and to be honest, when we told our families Cancun, we did not get positive reactions.

Its looking more & more like it will be just the two of us, although we had been hoping our parents & immediate families would come. Did anyone else have problems with families being totally against your DW?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
