Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

Just wondered if anyone is either writing their own vows or has written their own vows ? Because we are having a legal ceramony I've been told that there has to be cirtain words said for it to be legalised in England ? Does anyone know about this ? Also I'm not really sure how to go about starting them. I know what I would like to say but its just putting it all together and keeping it "short and sweet" so no-one falls asleep LOL !! Any advice would be greatfully receivedfeedback.gif

Yes, I wrote the entire ceremony at Dreams, Claudia had no problem with it. I did a lot of internet searching to figure out the best way to right it and for ideas for readings. Also, I think there are some links on this site that can help you see how other girls did it. I don't think they are any words you can't use. I think our ceremony ended up being no more than 20 minutes. The only caution I give you is the woman who facilitated our ceremony at Dreams had trouble with pronouncation on a few of the words. When it came to repeat, I was fine since I had wrote it but my husband had some issues - it was a bit awkward at times during the cermemony!

I had asked her as well, she told me that if there was something I wanted to add, they could incorporate it...

i was able to get a copy of some of the ceremony.

what she said was really pretty and nice.

not sure if it will be the same or even the same person.

our only problem was that we could not really understand her in the beginning! as the ceremony went on, we were able to understand her better! hope that helps!!!

Thanks for the advice guys, that helps alot. Because we're having a legal ceramony does this mean there are cirtain words that has to be said first then we add our vows after?, (I don't think I'm explaining myself very well) I just want to make sure that if we do write our own vows that it is legally binding. Thanks for the advice grouphug.gif

My reception is from 5:30 - 9pm.

I know my friends will want to continue to party and feel kinda strange saying we will continue at one of the hotel bars and then go to Azucar (since they are open late).

Claudia has told me in the past it is $10 (+ tax and tip) per person per hour to continue partying there.

Did anyone just stay put in the Tower lobby bar area? I am asuming that is close to the Tower terrace? I don't want to make the ackward transition outta there. The $1000 extra also hurts a bit for 2 more hours there.

Any advice?

ahh Paula, your wedding is so soon!!!

The tower bar is right off of the tower terrace and also the tower lobby. So you could totally continue inside the lobby area and keep getting drinks from the lobby bar, I think. The only thing I'm not sure about is how late that bar stays open. And they totally didn't kick us out of there, I think I got back to my room at midnight and that was coming straight from our reception. We didn't pay for any extra time and claudia was no where to be found once cocktail hour started, so the waiters were in control and we had fun with them.

Honestly, if I were you, I wouldn't pay for extra time because its not like you have to leave the area once the weddings done, you're staying at the hotel, so you're allowed to be there and hang out in the lobby, etc...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
