I am also on a budget and, when Claudia sent me the total, it almost took my breath away.  Things can sure add up.  I have heard of replacing the cocktail hour for the additional 10 ppl for dinner, that is a good idea if you are on a tight budget.  I am in between a DJ and the sound system for the reception on the beach.  What do you ladies think?  The sound system would less expensive but, would it look cheap?

You could certainly use the sound system it would be cheaper and they do a good job you could create a playlist on the ipod. At first we considered this and then at the end we went with the dj and cut expenses elsewhere. We brought our own centerpieces and got a credit for not using the Mexican trio that was included in the package. I also did not take the centerpieces that were part of my package and used them both for gazebo decor etc. Try and see what u can do without in the package and call Claudia to see what she could give u for it.

The DJ is worth every penney. He did a great job at our wedding.

Hi all!

I was hoping to get some feedback/review/ pictures from Brides that used the new photgraphers provided by the Hotel!

I heard that the one with the hotel does nice work but is not sociable. We went with Juan Navarro and his rates were amazing and his work was unreal.

The gentleman Marlun at the hotel took amazing photos but he was not sociable at all! He had no "people skills"  and didn't take photos of my family, bridal party or anything.  I would probably suggest going elsewhere if photos are a pretty big deal to you.  Luckily I had hired a videographer there so I wasn't too upset because he got all of the shots that the photographer did not.

Thanks!

I know you can definitely take in packaged food/candy as I had some snack items in my OOT bags plus a lot of granola bars.  They probably have the same rules as the US - no fresh fruits and vegetables.  The limit for all non-personal items (like decorations or OOT bag items) is $300 per person.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
