Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

we used a travel agent and that helped us out so much. she put together different packages for people who wanted to stay 3, 5, and 7 days. that also cut the cost of OUR trip in half! i think 75% of my guests are going through a travel agent, and the rest went through a website. goodluck! smile29.gif

We also have about 90 guests coming and didnt even give the option for them to stay at another resort. The whole point for us to have the destination wedding was for everyone to be on vacation together in the same place. Plus day passes are so expensive that if you have everyone stay at different resorts it would cost an arm and a leg.

Our TA gave our guests many different options for their length of stay plus land or air only (some people have miles). Booking a TA was the first thing I did, and I am so glad....she is like having a second coordinator. Any time I cant get in touch with Daniella she calls her and we get an answer right away!!!!

Thank you to everyone for posting such great information! I am new to this site and have not yet decided on our location but we are leaning towards Dreams Cancun or Moon Palace. Like everyone else I love Dreams Cancun gazebo and options for the reception!! It seems that there may be some hidden/unclear fees and I would be curious if anyone has any input after getting married here. Were there any major surprises with the bill?

I was also wondering if you had any thoughts on Dreams Cancun versus Dreams Tulum?

Thanks again for all of the helpful information- this site is amazing to have come across! Congratulations to everyone!

Hello,
I was married at dreams cancun about a month ago. As far as surprise fees, I don't think there were really any surprises when I finalized the bill, but there was definetly a lot of things I didn't really think about when planning that you do have to pay for, that I guess you may not think of initially, nothing too crazy, for example, if you want the gazebo decorated, thats extra depending on what you want, the chair bows are extra, even the white chair covers are extra. But that not any different than every other resort.

As far as differences between dreams cancun & tulum, I don't know very much about tulum, but the major reason why I didn't consider it, was the distance from the airport. I had a lot of guests coming down for 3-4 days and I didn't want them to spend hours in a van travelling to the resort. Dreams cancun is only about 20-30 minutes from the airport.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
