OMG!!!!!!! We just got in late last night and can't wait to give my review.. I'll .start by saying..... my wedding day was PERFECT!!!!!!!! please bare with me, two babies, and a lot of unpacking.... but I promise to have it up super soon........ PLEASE ,PLEASE, keep the girls that are at Dreams now in your prayers.... we were lucky enough to have a beautiful wedding weather window, torenchal downpours as we arrived, and sun for the rest of the week, but as we were leaving... the talk of a category 2 Hurricane was suppose to land in Cancun....

If Cecilia could, I am sure she would push the darn thing back with her bare hands.... She is AMAZING!!!! and such a kind and beautiful soul!!!

THey know what they are doing.... have faith!!! from, the spa, to the salon, to the food, service.... AWESOME!!!!!  Bare with me, my review is soon to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad that your wedding ws perfect.  I have been really worried about futuremrsroo and mgl27.

My wedding is at the end of next week so I am worried about any potential damage to the resort, but that pales in comparison to having the hurricane happen while you are there.  I pray that even though the hurricane will undoubtedly come, that the Dreams staff can work some magic such that our girls have beautiful weddings - even if they are not on the days originally planned!

Well, lets all keep mgl27 in our thoughts! I'm officially a January Dreams bride now!

I think mgl was flying in on Monday, so there was no way they could have predicted how fast the storm would strengthen. It looks like she'll be fine for her wedding on Saturday, but the next two days will probably be pretty rough at the resort. Claudia said they were removing coconuts from the trees to prevent them from flying through windows! They were waiting to see if they need to evacuate. cry.gif

Luckily, the resort is super awesome, and we rescheduled for January 14th with ALL my guests getting full refunds for this week. Where are my January brides at??

Soon2Be, I am SO GLAD you had a wonderful wedding!! I can't wait to hear all about it :)

congratulations on you perfect wedding day! it's great to hear that they are on top of things! good luck to all the upcoming brides.

I have a quick question. My TA got me a great deal with the hotel and i put 30 rooms on hold. Now most of my guests are saying that they are booking online. Did anyone have experience with this? Do you know if they will still give us any credits? I sent a message to Claudia but she hasn't responded yet.it would be a shame if we lose all the benefits

Thanks!

I am so glad that they worked it out for you and how awesome of the resort.  Hearing that makes me like them even more love.gif I hope all of your guests get to make it in January and I REALLY hope mgl makes it through this storm ok!

I am glad you seem to be okay with the date switch.  I was worried about you!  It was crazy how this storm came out of nowhere...there was no word of it on Sunday and then by Monday evening it was already a hurricane.  I hope that the Dreams staff can find a way to make Meghan's wedding beautiful (hopefully there will be a window where they can have the ceremony outside).  If nothing else, Meghan certainly has an amazing story for her wedding.

Because the storm has been downgraded to what will likely be a tropical storm by the time it hits Cancun, I am assuming no one had to be evacuated.

Thanks everyone! It was easier to be okay with the switch since the resort was awesome and the airlines waived any fees to cancel and change flights. When I woke up Tuesday thinking I was getting on a plane the next day and my FI said, "Honey, I don't think we're going to Mexico tomorrow", it was pretty rough!!

I spoke to Claudia today (helpful hint: she is WAY easier to get in touch with by phone, so save up questions and call her!!) and she said that everyone is fine, and it's just really windy and cloudy and will rain off and on. She seems really on top of it, so I'm sure Meghan is having a great wedding, even if it's not the outdoor one that she planned on.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
