Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Ladies - I don't know when this post will get through due to mediation, so hopefully it isn't too late for you.  When I booked my appointments, I was told there are only 2 stylists at the salon at the time so you won't have too much selection.  In order to get myself and 3 others for hair and makeup (my, MOH, MOB, and MOG) we are blocked out in the salon for both stylists for 3 hours!!  They scheduled me with one stylist for the 3 hours and then the 3 other women for the other stylist for an hour each.  I wasn't given stylist names....

What is the physical address for the hotel that I should include on my invites? I've only located the mailing address for Dreams Cancun. Google lists the following:

Boulevard Kukulcan Km 14.5 Retorno San Miguelito 37 Zona HoteleraCancunQuintana Roo 77500, Cancun, Mexico

OMG, I am leaving in 22 days!!!  I cannot believe it!!!!!!  I booked all of my salon appointments last week.  My mom and Aunt, and Scott's step mom are getting their hair and makeup done, 1 of my bridesmaids is getting her make up done and I am getting my make up done (One of my friend's and hairdresser is doing our hair).  I also booked 6 mani and pedis for Friday morning.  I just sent an email to the Spa telling them what I wanted and about what times I would like.  Make sure you tell them it is for a wedding (any appointments that are not relevant to wedding (hair, make up).  They emailed my back within 48 hours with all my appointments scheduled and a confirmation.  So, i did about 4 weeks out.  So, the sooner the better, I would say!

Here is the address:  spa1.drecu@dreamsresorts.com Also, some people were asking about Christian....  He is the one that responded, not sure if it is the same one. :)

How far in advance did you book your appointments?

I booked my appointments about 2 months out just because it was on my to do list and I am all about crossing things off of the list.  However, you would want to book weeks/months out is in case there is another wedding on your day.  As I have both stylists from 9am ~ 1pm and my wedding is at 4:30pm (we are doing picture before the ceremoney), if there is a wedding booked for early in the afternoon then they won't have available appointments.

And mgl27 is right, tell them it is for a wedding and be very specific about how many appointments are needed for hair and/or makeup.  Also, it is probably a good idea to mention which wedding package you are paying for if you have one where the bride's hair and makeup are included.

22 days?!  So exciting.  I leave exaclty one month from today!  My legal wedding is this coming Sunday...I will technically be a married woman in 7 days.  Oh - and I have a bridal portrait session scheduled for this Thursday, so I will get to see the whole look (hair, makeup, and dress) for the first time.

I am only having 21 people at my wedding and decided to do one long table for the reception. Claudia has been taking a while to respond back to me... Does anyone know the table dimensions or what size organza over lay I should order? Does Claudia have a wide selection of colors/fabrics to choose from for overlays? I also wanted to do a brunch at the world cafe the morning after the wedding. Are you able to make reservations and do they charge pp like they do for rehearsal dinners?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
