Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm home! Our wedding was the 3rd and it was wonderful!! I'll try and answer as many questions as I can. Here are a few responses to some of the questions I saw fly by. I'll post my review and pics this week. - I did not contact the videographer prior to getting to Mexico. Once there I gave them the name of some songs I wanted dubbed over the DVD and it came out great. - I brought my ownd DJ however at one point I had talked to the hotel DJ and he asked for music titles 2 weeks prior to wedding - I used Juan Navarro for pictures so I paid for that outside of the ultimate package. He was absolutely marvelous. Money well spent! - we got the buffet mix between silver and gold menus. Buffet s the only option if you have over 40 people. - I got the ultimate package, outside photographer($1500), 65 people and extra decorations and we spent 10k. P.s. Because of the amount of people we booked and the promo packages offered at the time we only paid $200 total for our room for 7 night 8 day stay. - I took a bunch of crap for my welcome bags I put it all in one suitcase and I while it was in the scanner in Mexico the guard asked if it was all wedding stuff I said yes rambled off a few items and went on my way. I got the green button though so I have no idea what would have happened if they needed to open it. Let me know if u have any more questions. The new Mrs. Moye'

Hi,

I'm so happy to hear your wedding went great.   I just gave my deposit yesterday for August 12th 2012! So excited, but nervous at the same time :)

Question- How was the reception area decorated? dinner tables? and what was the cost for the decorations? How did you choose the decorations? Did you bring any of your own decorations? Also was there any bottled water available for the guest during ceremony/reception?

Thanks,

Kat

Thanks for that info Caboose!  I was thinking we'd be spending around that much ourselves, but I didn't think we'd be able to have that large of a wedding for that money.  I was thinking right around the twenty person mark, so maybe there is a little more room for guests on the guest list!! WOO :)

Another really cute idea is to have your round tables for the guests and one small table in the center or on the side for just you and your hubby. It is your first meal together as husband and wife and I think it is really romantic that way!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
