Are you kidding me!  Wow, that really stinks.  We have already been planning our 1st anniversary return.  Part of the reason we picked Dreams was for the 2 free nights we get the next year.  Well now what are we going to do, if they aren't in operation, we obviously can't follow the limitations of the offer (must stay during your wedding day and at the hotel you married at).  I have even mentioned these plans to Claudia and she hasn't mentioned this to me yet.  This stinks!  I guess maybe they can offer the stay to be at Dreams Riviera Maya, but those are more out of our price range.  AHHHHH!  I guess I just  have to breath.  I guess it seems the closer we get the more issues we get.  I've already had my dress burn down, our videographer being dropped from the vendors (and we finally figured that one out... I had already paid Claudia, but Miguel wasn't informed, so I almost had to pay him too because he's now an external provider.  Of course, Dreams would have reimbursed me, but the foreign transaction fee's on our credit card don't get reimbursed!!  luckily, everyone figured it out and now I owe no one anything more, phew!!) and mis-communications from some of our favor providers.  Ahhhh!

Sorry to vent to you all!  Barbiebride I will be there for your wedding!!

I just wanted to inform of you of an email I got today from Cecilia.  I had already had a confirmed wedding date (5/28/12) and we had been working on details of my wedding, but then I received this:

Dear Kara, sorry for the late response.
I did not answering you before because we were talking to the hotel management.
The hotel will have renovations starting on April 16th and ending by December 16th 2012.

Regards!

I have been to a hotel before that was doing renovations (didn't know, the hotel never informed us) and it was awful, loud and defintely not relaxing.  I know I will unfortunately have to begin the search of a new hotel location for my wedding, but thought I'd pass on this information :(    Thanks for all the ideas and congrats to all those getting married!

Ok, i guess I got confused by what they meant by "stay must be at same brand as your wedding"  I didn't understand what they meant by brand.  I used to think you could redeem your free nights at any Dreams, until I saw that disclaimer.  Then I thought, well, since all these are Dreams, the brand must mean the actual Dreams you marry at.  I guess what they mean by brand is Dreams, Secrets, Zoetry, etc because they all offer the free night incentive which I never realized.   So I guess us 2011 brides have a  2012 place to stay for our anniversary, but just not at the beautiful resort we will marry at.  Oh well, maybe it will be a chance to discover another place, but I'm afraid the others are more expensive.  I better start saving!

Does anyone happen to have any correspondance from the wedding coordinators on which bouquets are included in the ultimate package? Claudia emailed me the VIP bouquets which are very pricey, but, I'm curious what the ones already included look like. Between the cost & tax on the VIP, I'm contimplating on looking at external vendors. If anyone has any info, can you please pm me? Thanks!!!

@cricket2168: You can pick from any bouquet that you got a picture of from your WC.  You only pay that VIP price if you are putting together the wedding yourself as opposed to selecting a package.  I picked my bouquet once we were at the Dreams and met with our WC...seemed like there were over 20 in the book she had, but they can also mix and match a bit too.  They are pretty flexible with the bouquets...unless you want a specific flower that has a higher cost.  I just told our WC that our main wedding color was orange, so I wanted a mix of orange and ivory flowers and I pointed at one flower in particular in the book. When she delivered the bouquet to me, I thought it was beautiful!

Ok, that makes sense! Your bouquet is beautiful! Did you get your bridesmaids bouquets from Dreams too? I'm not sure what to do about that? Whether to bring them, or buy them? I couldn't find prices on those bouquets.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
