Thanks Chris for your info.  Had another question for everyone also about tipping.  I have budgeted to tip Claudia as soon as we get there in our meeting, ($100 i think should be good), but what about the photographer?  I am doing the ultimate package, but budgeted $300 extra for additional photos like people suggest (trying not to pay more then that) but should I tip him also?  And the Videographer for dreams, Mike I believe, contacted me and I wondered if I should upgrade?  I really don't think I want to pay more and the 30 min. video is fine with me.

Just wanted to let people also know that I ended up going to Hobby Lobby and bought my centerpieces for the reception and spent $60 total for all 5.  Very simple and easy to bring I hope.  My colors are hot pink with an orange accent.  I found tall (16") hot pink colored glass vases and instead of doing fake flowers or paying for real, I found these beaded, metallic decorative looking pieces in the fake flower section. They had a pink, fuschia and orange color and they look great in the vase and I literally just have to stick them in there and I am done.  I bought hot pink and orange very small beads and I will sprinkle that around the vase on the white tablecloth.  Each vase cost was about $11.50.  I also bought sashes (hot pink) for my chairs and Claudia said they will transfer those onto the reception chairs.  The only other thing is I ordered hot pink linen napkins for very cheap and will have those in the glasses.

For the head table I will re-use two of the sand ceremony vases I bought for my FI and I and have my two bridesmaids bouquets at the end of the table and I bought one more vase for my bouquet to use as the main centerpiece on our table.

Pretty simple but I think it will be pretty and less hassle and more then that, not cost a fortune.  I would send a picture, but I still have not figured that one out.  lol....

Just trying to knock things off my list.  Oh one more thing, instead of buying corsages at $25 a piece for my two hostess(they will help seat, pass out the sand and be in charge of reception) and my two readers, I took that money and bought them beautiful bracelets that they can keep.

Talk to everyone soon.

i also started thinking about all the tips and what to do about that and my mom actually pointed something out...here, you tip people that don't make money directly from the service you are receiving. ie servers don't keep any of the money from your food bill, hair stylists don't profit from the salon, etc....so you obviously tip these people.

the photog charges a fee that allows him or her to make a profit from their services.  this is the same for the dj, the videographer, the mexican trio, the minister, etc.

we've decided to tip the WC, the waiters, and bar tender.  we will however, include the photog and the dj in our guest list so they will have something to eat during the reception.

what do you think ladies?  and photogs/videographers feel free to chime in please!!

btw ladies update on my horrible experience yesterday...

claudia sent me an email answering all my questions.  and gino also responded saying he will definately be at the rehearsal but it'll cost $60...small price to pay for peace of mind, lol!!

also, the dreams people finally responded to the girl on fb so hopefully they fix things for her.

well 23 days!!!

Those are the chairs I am using. Cecilia wants $9 for each chair which sucks but I love the way they look. She calls them the tiffany chairs.

3.  Thanks for the heads up on the new pics Chris...umm...what's up with the gazebo pic (5th pic from left top row).  That looks AMAZING...and yet I've never even seen those chairs used EVER on a wedding!  Soooo photoshopped.  Would it be too much to ask for them to REALLY make it look like that? Gorgeous!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
