Everyone, thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it and it helps me sort some things out.

Does anyone have any suggestions about resources for writing up the ceremony??

I actually used the forum to write my ceremony.  this thread is AMAZING!!  it took me awhile to get through it all but it was well worth it!

I am getting married next saturday 8.28 at Dreams Cancun and I have a question about the photographer.  We have the Ultimate package and didn't purchase an additional package.  This apparently includes 50 photos and an album.  How long is Juan Navarro there with you?  Do you get photos when you are getting ready or just of the ceremony?  Does he stay throughout the reception?  When I meet with Claudia when I arrive, can I request additional photos or get a CD of all the pictures added on?

That is the only thing that I am really worried about.  I was very relaxed with it up front and now I am thinking that maybe I should have asked a few more questions.  :)

Any advice you have would be very much appreciated!!

Heather

I think there are a couple of options for additional hours.  We are adding two hours as well, but we chose the ones that don't include as many pics as posted above.  Our's is $250 per additional hour.  Also many of the brides on here comment that once they receive their pics and album, they are offered the cd with all of the pics for $500...DONT pay this amount!!  EVERYONE i've talked to says to negotiate, and most brides get the cd for around $300

Thank you so much! I am just a little confused in how it works. I am sending my save the dates tomorrow and my wedding isn't till May of next year. If people start booking before i send out my invites i should still send them an invite right? Hope it's not to much to ask. Thanks in advance!!

Yes!  For sure send them an invite!  In fact, I was arguing the other way around, our wedding is in 3 months and I only wanted to send the invite to those who booked.  I figured if they're not going, why spend the $4 each invite is costing me....in the end I compromised.   Those that are going get the whole invitation suite, maps, reception details, etc.  Those who haven't mentioned anything about going at this point, only get a flat card announcing our invite.

What I learned though, is that irregardless of if they're going or not, people will be offended if they don't get an invite.

To who it may concern, I got 10 extra guests for not having cocktail, but I've heard of girls getting more guests for other things (not using mariachi).  I didn't get that option however (I got two hours of sound system though).

I am also on the fence about the invites.  I am not sure who to send them too.  I don't want to offend people, but I also don't want to push people who really do not want or cannot afford to go.

More weddings!  Congrats ladies.  I have to keep living vicariously through all of you lucky soon to be brides!

I know they get a full they package which includes a CD with all pictures taken, then you do not have to pay additional charges for CD, extra hours, or something else, you must look for a full package and then you won't worry about if the photographer will be while you are getting ready, at the end of the ceremony, etc!

Good luck!! Claudia is amazing!

I can't say enough great things about her!  She responds to emails the same day, no matter how many millions of emails I send.  Her prices are awesome.  I'm getting really tall flowers for each table for $50 each, the resort quoted me $150 each.... she gets good reviews on here too and can basically find and figure out anything your heart desires...she's awesome <3

Thank you so much ... I sent her an email.. cecilia quoted me 280 for the centerpieces i want.. thats insane!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
