Yeah...The negative reviews were bothering me until my FIL said that most people don't take time out of their schedule to post a great review but they will take time out to post a bad one. I think its all what you you make it. Even if it isn't the best resort most of my guests won't know the difference as they haven't stayed at very many AIs. They'll just be hapy to be in Mexico :)

Honestly, we have stayed at countless all inclusives. Every year we go to Mexico and stay at a different resort...all are 5 or 6 apples (which are the highest ratings) so I would say we are rather picky travelers. We LOVED Dreams! It was perfect. The resort wasn't too big, the rooms were nice, the food was some of the best food we have had at all - inclusives at least consistently. We have had good food at other resorts but usually its only at 1 or 2 of their restaurants. All of the restaurants at Dreams were great. I wouldn't worry about the reviews. You are always going to have those that don't like much of anything if its outside their "norm". Remember some people are really set in their ways. You and your guests will have a great time!

I just went as most of you know and FI's family is all about what other people think. They think their guests are very opinionated and they said the only thing they think people will complain about is how small the pool is. And the only thing I'm worried about is the graffiti on the rocks. Other than that, I really think all of our guests will enjoy hanging out and sipping margaritas.

I also just got back and most of my guests absolutely loved it. Only the ones who are used to the 'finer' things in life such as yearly trips to Hawaii or the Floriday Keys complained about it. These people loved the location, but they felt the food was somewhat bland. I loved the food, so I suppose it depends on what you're used to! Oh, the drinks were a bit watered down, just ask for double shots in every drink and you'll be feeling great!

honestly, i think the *only* things that could at all be complained about are:

1) the main pool is pretty small (this didn't affect us bc we went during the height of swine flu and the resort was empty)

2) the room furnishings are in serious need of updating (however, the rooms are large and spotlessly clean)

3) in the rooms that overlook the dolphin pool, you sometimes get the unpleasant *smell* of their pool and the fish they feed them (um, they are living creatures ... what did you expect? seeing the dolphins *right there* imo totally makes up for any smell)

4) some rooms were experiencing issues with the air conditioning (we just switched rooms, but i know that may not always be an option)

overall, the location, the customer service, and the cleanliness of the resort were totally above and beyond. remember, there is just no pleasing some people. go and have the time of your lives ... i promise you and all your guests will want to return!

I've ready that it has sometimes taken a few weeks to hear back from the weeding coordinators but it's been since June 6th since I sent a reply to Claudia wanting to book my wedding date and I hve yet to hear back from her. I have sent 4 more emails since then and am not getting any responses. It's making me very nervous and frustrated. Has anybody else had this problem?

Have you marked the email as urgent? I found that sometimes works. If not, try calling the hotel directly & asking to speak to Claudia.

Also, have you filled out the wedding request form on the website. Try the link below & it should bring you to the right page to fill it out...Hope this helps! The wedding coordinators are very busy & it does take awhile for them to get back to you. :) Good Luck & Congrats!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
