Sorry to be a pest but after 2 months of looking (SIGH) we have narrowed our options down to Dreams Cancun and Playa Fiesta - totally different but we like both for different reasons!

We are concerned about Dreams Cancun having a curfew - does anyone know for sure whether Dreams Cancun has a curfew?

Okay Ladies, I have E-Mailed Claudia and her assistant with out any luck (for almost two weeks) so I tried to read through this thread again but I am running out of time in front of the computer. So I thought I would ask you wonderful ladies some of these questions. Any help would be GREAT!

* Do they have an aisle runners?

* What decorations do they have for the walkway leading to the Gazebo?

* I am doing the white flags, but she never told me how many flagpoles they have?

* What kind of Activities/Events/Dinners do they have going on Fri,Sat evenings?

* For my cocktail hour I was told to choose from the Gold Menu, can I pick from the silver instead?

* Do they take any type of reservations for a private dinner? If so what are the cost and which restaurants??

I was wanting to do a "rehearsal" dinner on that Saturday evening for about 20-30 people....

* What is everyone doing for their Vows?

Okay, thats all for now smile105.gif

Hey Katherine!

Is that picture from yoru legal wedding? It's a great picture of you and Seth.

I hate to hear that you are having such a hard time getting in touch with them... You are so close to your wedding...

I can only answer a few of your questions:

* I am doing the white flags, but she never told me how many flagpoles they have?

Maybe you should tell her how many you want, they are $35 USD each plus 10% tax. I have pictures of them in a word doc. PM me with your email address if you need it.

* What kind of Activities/Events/Dinners do they have going on Fri,Sat evenings?

I think this varies. We will go next door to Azucar probably after our welcome dinner.

* For my cocktail hour I was told to choose from the Gold Menu, can I pick from the silver instead?

If you are paying for the Dreams Ultimate Wedding Pkg, you can choose between gold and silver... just not the platinum. (I also liked many items on the silver menu).

* Do they take any type of reservations for a private dinner? If so what are the cost and which restaurants??

Only in a couple of the restaurants, didn't get a good answer on this one, and I asked several times, read her response at the bottom first...

Me: Which restaurants would have the charge listed below and which do not?

Claudia: all of them except himitus, but we can´t accomodate large groups there.

Me: Would we be able to reserve an area for dinner for our guests on the Friday before the wedding?

Claudia: $ 10 usd charge per person in some of our restaurants, this will depend on the number of your guests

I may do what Kimiko did (wkbroome), I think it was her...

She met with everyone in the lobby, welcomed them, handed out the OOT bags, then invited them to have dinner with them in the World Cafe. They chose a time they knew wasn't too busy.

I was wanting to do a "rehearsal" dinner on that Saturday evening for about 20-30 people....

* What is everyone doing for their Vows?

I am not writing much on my own, making them short and sweet.

My sister had a book I am working my way through for the entire ceremony.

I will go over it with the officiant, or send it to C & D to review with them.

Hope this helps a little!

Hey PaulaV,

Yes, that picture was right after our legal wedding. I have some great pics, but haven't had a chance to post them yet. Thank You smile159.gif

Well, thank you for your help in answering those questions.

I am thinking of just having everyone meet us in the lobby also then head to dinner. That will probably be the easiest choice.

I just want to see if we can do a rehearsal now on that Saturday, I'm sure a wedding will be taking place at some point. I can't wait to see Jilly's wedding on Friday, then another on Saturday!!

Oh good, I am paying for the Ult. Package, I do like options on both menus ...hehe

I do have a picture of the flags, I just wasn't sure how far they went out..I need an ariel view..lol

Thanks again for your help!! It was greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

I think what I've heard is that for outside receptions they have to end by 11, but if its in the ballroom it can go later. But I think we're just going to head to one of the bars once it gets later.

you girls are too funny! Katherine I hope I get to meet you, I'm also hoping to catch a glimpse of your wedding before we leave for El Dorado, what time is your ceremony? Feel free to come down and introduce yourself!

I'm wondering who the Saturday wedding is, no one from this forum, but thats the date I originally wanted!

FYI.... I will be leaving on Wednesday morning for Cancun and wanted to offer to take certain pictures, get information, ask certain questions, or anything that might help all of you out!!!!

I'm a picture kind of girl and pictures really help me out with decisions and so on. So, if any of you need anything, just make a list.. and i will do what ever it is! (certain angles, day or night etc......)

P.s... I will be posting some pictures of all of my crap within the next few days for all of you to look at.....

Thanks again for everything~

We leave in 4 days!!!!!

no, I emailed her yesterday and she didn't respond. I think I may email her again, she's stressing me out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
