I just want to hear what you are all doing after your wedding..

We are having a 5pm wedding
followed by cocktail party
follwed by meal until 10pm......

then what do we do??

Thank you!
We are doing a similar timeline, and are planning to carry the party on into a nearby club (most likely Bulldog which is walking distance, or Coco Bongo which is a little farther but more appropriate for all the guests). We're gonna arrange to have a private area with tables, seats, and bottle service and will probably be there all night!

Usually you can just call the restaurant a couple days before to make the reservation...i believe this is usually done once you arrive. I've also read from some other posts that they just showed up as a group and waited to be sat (wouldnt be my first choice).
Also, when i was there, my favorite restaurant was Oceana - the food was good, and i really liked that it had an outside area with a great view!

OK ladies not to be a downer... But I'm I the only opne not thrilled to get married in a finger condom (found this halarius) I am very upset with the out come.. It looks we are going to be beemed out in the middle of the ceremony...

I am sorry ladies I am just in a huge shock....sad.gif

Yea, I'm not too thrilled, but it could be sooo much worse, imagine if they had made a huge pool there and made the gazebo next to the pool like all the other resorts do it....or what if they made a crazy looking gazebo like the wtf polynesian one at DRC...the list goes on and on.

I'm just excited it's white, and positioned so you can't see the ugly row of rocks, and it is much more grand like another pointed out, it won't obstruct your view of the gorgeous ocean blue behind you. And with the right decorations....picture it like this (at Le Meridien)

A few drapes and flowers, it will look fantastic! And not to mention now it has built in lighting and sound, no ugly speakers to put up. I think there are a lot of positives too that we should focus on.

Yeah...the DRC one is crazy looking, but the look of the resort totally makes up for it!! I just looked through their photo gallery...WOW...I feel horrible saying it, but I am thinking I made a mistake picking DC!!wtf.gif

I'm hoping this is just a stage i'm going through, but the reason i picked it was because of the gazebo & we had our 2 toddlers coming with us...now the kids aren't coming & i'm starting to FREAK OUT about the entertainment at the resort!! The majority of our guests are between 24-30 & i'm so worried it won't be fun enough for everyone. During the day should be fine, but at nighthuh.gif I don't want to have to leave the resort & spend a bunch of money...totally freaking out!! Not to mention all the bad reviews on trip advisor!!! Our guests paid a ton of money for this resort & i'll be so disappointed if it looks shabby sad.gif

Maybe I should stop looking at other resorts....beacause all of the other resorts seems so much lovlier & more fun then DC!!! sad.gif

I think we all should wait until it is finished before we start worrying about how it will look in the end. Sounds like many people are jumping to conclusions on how it will look when its finished. Until we see the end product I think its safe to say we should relax and wait to see. I know its hard to just let it be when you are planning the biggest day of your life, but in the end you will have the decision to stick with your original plan or choose to move your wedding to another resort. What's most important is that you will be marrying your best friend surrounded by friends and family :)

Mel, I think it's totally a stage. I went through it too not too long ago, when the beach was remodeled. I went so far as to call about 10 other resorts, and none was available on my date, and I felt pretty attached to the date and had already sent STDs and had a couple of people booked, so I ended up feeling stuck with DC...then I started reading more about other resorts, and it seems that none other really flips over backwards for you on you wedding day. I mean, not telling these brides about the recent changes was wrong, but was also the exception. Everyone who has gotten married there says the WC's really pull through...this wasn't really the feeling at many other resorts I had been looking at. Now I'm back in the I [heart] DC stage....it's perfect for me and my guests, including 13 kiddies! If you are all adults now though, maybe you can look at other resorts, like the Royal which has a major wow factor for the hotel itself, though I still think the DC gazebo wins hands down...even if it now looks like a finger condom :)

I think u should give yourself time Mel, you'll come around to loving DC again soon :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
