I also have a question. We are using the resort photog for our pictures of the wedding day and it is included in the package we are getting. I'm wondering if it is just his & the videographers time that is included in the package or do you get pictures & the video as well....or is it extra to purchase the pics & vid??

Thanks!!
it depends on your package...we are using the ultimate package and it includes two hours of photog time, a 30 min edited video, and 50 pics. you can also purchase the rest of your pics on a cd.

we are adding one or two hours of photog time at $250/hour...each hour includes an extra 50 pics.

mrs. timpone...i'm wearing a veil....when else can you do it?? :) :)

Im gettin married on the beach and if i do go with a veil its gonna be a cathderal veil. Although Im ok with the idea of just wearing flowers in my hair, but at the same time I really feel like a bride with the veil?! so confused! sad.gif

Did you ladies wear veils? Do you recommend I wear a veil?

I wore a veil, but it was very very windy. It kept flying over my head, so before I walked down the isle we tried to pin it to my dress. But once I got to the gazebo it was so windy it came undone. About half way through the ceremony my maid of honor ended up tucking the veil into the back of my dress. It was actually pretty funny.

We also used the resort photog, and our photos and video came with the package. The video guy deliverd our video to us the next morning, and the photog delieverd our photos a few days later to our honey moon resort. I forget how maby photos we got, but it was a pretty big album, and he also gave us like 8 big photos.

Hope that helps

Did you talk to Juan about the extra photo time or Cecilia? I have emailed Juan a few times and he told me the ultimate wedding package included 90 min of photo time, so I wanted to add more time but he hasn't e-mailed me back.

I had a death in the family and have not been on the destination forum for a while. I am excited to get back on!! Please excuse my choppy comments to previous postings.

When I saw the new beach I was so upset. I feel like it ruins the gazebo. So I completely understand! I am going to ask my photographer to angle the photos in a different direction and hopefully we won’t be able to see the rocks. I was even thinking asking them to set the chairs different (not quite centered) to keep it out of the photos. (I love the bridesmaid as a buffer idea)

We did a sight visit last November and although the Himitsu beach location is not as large or as intimate I liked it best for three reasons. It is right next to the beach bar. This means there are restrooms and a bar within a few feet. This is good for our fast drinkers and the elderly who can not walk all the way up to the hotel for the restroom. And secondly the sun sets on that side.

My wedding photographer is Pierre Violle. I am extremely excited about him. My fiancé “knows everything” about photography and so he picked him based on equipment and knowledge. We are also using him for a connote trash the dress session and I must say I am most excited about the trash the dress session. Pierre Visual Studio - Wedding Photography- Mayan Riviera- Playa del Carmen - Home - Wedding Photographer. He does have a lot of fish eye on his web sight but has a lot of equipment and is ok with little to no fish eye.

Lastly: Congratulations to all the new brides on here. There are some amazing ladies that come back after getting married to help us out. Thanks to them we can have the best weddings ever. I have also posted the link here that is for Dreams Brides to post their dates; I think its fun to see who is getting married the same month as you.

In regards to the Veil thing, I think it just depends on the day. I got married in June and some days it was Crazy windy up there...But on the day I got married, it wasn't bad at all. My veil was blowing around, but not too bad.

The one thing I did do was, I made sure I bought an inexpensive veil so if I couldn't wear it, it wasn't a big deal. You can always sell it on here if anything.

Sorry I didn't multiquote, But how much more time were you looking to get for Juan? He may have pricing on his website. You;d probably have to pay for a package of his, in addition to the one that comes with your wedding package.

He was with us for a little over 2 hours, most of which was his fault and he didn't charge us extra. We did wind up buying all 600 pictures that he took that day for $350.00.

Unless you are doing a TTD or you want him there for your reception, then I think you'll have plenty of time with him. Just don't expect to be at your Cocktail hour :)

I think what matters most is what YOU want. Don't let the weather make your decision. Do you guys remember ever seeing royal weddings. The maids sometimes would stand on each side of the bride behind her holding the veil/train. You could always do that while you walk up (if it doesn't seem too pretentious) if it's too windy and while you are saying your vows, wear it long enough to sneak some pics. Then take it off. And put it back on once you get somewhere where there's a break in the wind.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
