Has anyone actually seen this ballroom on a site visit? It doesn't look like it even has windows or a terrace in the 2 pics I found.
I saw a video-album by Elizabeth Medina of a wedding that took place in the ballroom. It was absolutely gorgeous! I think it was like Michelle and Steve -- I used to watch it all the time b/c I'm having a Jewish ceremony like the couple in the video.

The ballroom is big and pretty & could be decorated very nicely. But if you're worried about sand, maybe the garden would be good-- it's on grass and it's so pretty and overlooking the water.

Just wanted to give my 2 cents on the DJ discussion... We had a DJ since I didn't want to be bothered with making a playlist or keeping up with it during the reception. However I really wish I would've made a playlist because the DJ just wasn't picking up on the group vibe so i had to keep requesting songs on the fly. I thought he'd then pick songs like those I requested but it didn't happen, however we danced to whatever was playing. The sound was great, didn't have to worry about that and the lighting created that club like atmosphere. It would've been really dark without it (on the terrace) and it just creates that fun vibe that gets everyone moving. If you can fit it in your budget I'd say go for it, just have a playlist! :)

Thanks so much for posting that! It does look really nice, I wonder how much that decoration cost. The gazebo looked gorgeous too, and she was able to wear hair down with a fingertip veil in the wind too! Thanks so much for the link!

One reason I am going more for the ballroom...you can party till 6 in the morning! Ok, so I will prob only go till 1am or so, but I come from a family of partiers and 11pm seems so early.

We went with DJ Mannia, not sure what the DJ's name was though... Oh and about the wind it's a hit or miss. I got married in November and there was no way I could've worn my hair down. I had a hard time keeping my veil on, I suggest really securing that sucker! There was a day or two in the 8 days we were there that it wasn't that windy over there. Just have an updo option as a backup in case it's too windy to wear it down!

I say book it now, esp since you are getting married in june? i wanted to go ahead and book it so that i would be more likely to be able to choose the time, instead of going with whatever time they had left.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to provide an update on the new beach at Dreams Cancun and how it affects the gazebo view. At first, I was very upset and if you look at the pic on their Facebook page it does look like an eye sore. However, Claudia was so great to get back to me right away and send me some pics of recent weddings. I feel 100% better now because it is not that bad at all once you see the gazebo setup for the wedding. It's still the most beautiful destination wedding location out there!! So if anyone was concerned about this you can relax bc it is still gorgeous! :-)

I can't post the pics on here because I haven't posted enough yet to have those privledges apparantly. haha If anyone is interested, I can send you the pics that Claudia sent me if you want to see what the gazebo looks like with the new beach. You can email me at taramac25@hotmail.com.

So excited again! haha I can't wait to get married at Dreams. We sent our deposit this week.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
