Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

YEAH!

 

We got confirmation from TA Jill that our date is officially reserved! I'm so excited to be able to take the next step's in planning :-) I think I might have found "the" dress, but I'm sad to stop hunting for it so soon LOL. So next step is getting our website and STD's figured out.

 

So tell me girls does the time actually fly by until your wedding or creep by?

FLY BY!!!! Seriously....We just set the date in September and I honestly cannot believe there is only 7 months left!!!! CRAZINESS!!!

My advice to you would be to gab on here about the wedding as much as possible, because family & friends get pretty sick of hearing about it all the time. lol. I know the next 7 months are going to fly by because summer is coming & the summer always flies by & then it'll be October....AAAAhhhhhh.....Can't wait

I was wondering the same thing about the wrist bands..it doesn't really matter me to either way but it will be interesting to see if they change it.

 

I think it will be different but it will still be beautiful! Somebody asked about the other beach, I saw it when I was there and it is smaller so I think it would be more intimate. I didn't like it as much because I like waves and it was calmer on that side but that's just me. I was going to see if we could have our reception on the new beach but seeing how big it is I think we might change to the smaller beach. I feel like the guests would have to walk a lot and I want to be able to hear the water at the reception and I'm not sure what the set up will be like on the new beach.

peterpanpixiedust- I had a similiar issue. I tried asking in Spanish and English and everytime they transferred me to a line that just beeped and told me to leave a room number or something. I finally called and got the front desk and told them that I've tried several times and asked them to double check that she was there and don't put me on hold or transfer me until they were sure she was going to answer. It worked and they spoke English and understood what I wanted. Maybe that will help?

hmmm, I just emailed her again today and put "Urgent" and she got right back to me! She send me two attachments about payment. One was two options, the first being a certified check and the second... well, actually, i have no idea what it meant (maybe about wiring it directy to their bank?) and the other attachment was a form meant for a credit card... with no instructions as to where to send it or how much. So I printed the form and signed it , scanned in my license and credit card (both sides), allowed them to charge $500 (the deposit amount specified for the ultimate package on the website), and put a side note that we will finalize the details at a later date, scanned it again and sent it to Claudia as an attachment. Hopefully this works.

And apparently according to Claudia, the 20 guests includes the bride and groom (not bride and groom plus 20)... did everyone know that?

And I'm kinda sad about all the rocks on the right of the gazebo. Are they on the other side too (the pic only shows the right side because they were showing off the new beach)?

 

Andim - apparently Himitsu beach (i think that's the small one) is located where the sun sets (or at least thats where Claudia said it does, and the sun rise is by the gazebo) so if you pick that beach, it will be very picturesque...i'm starting to think about that one. and it's by the lighthouse!

 

Oh are any Dreams Cancun girls doing/or did a TTD at a cenote? If so, which one and do you have pics?

Yay for finally hearing back! That's exactly what I did for payment so I'm sure that's all she needs.
The other side of the gazebo is really pretty with the water, so I think the view will still be great. I didn't even think about the sunset, that would be really pretty on the Himitsu beach!

we got engaged in july 09 and went for a site visit in sept. last year creeped by soooo slowly. but for whatever reason ever since jan it seems like its flying by!!! i can not belive its seven months away. now we're reserving our room for the wedding and the HM and we just sent the deposit for the TTD photog!! holy crap, omg, wtf, etc!!!!!

Thanks for the information everyone! So I have a couple FLY By's and a Slow I'm hoping to spend a lot of time on here to help the time pass! My FI will also prob appreciate not having to hear quite as much wedding talk!

 

I have a feeling things will go slow for me. We got engaged May 09 and I did NOTHING for the first 6 months of our engagement. Now that I have plans started I can't WAIT! It's wonderful to have more time then needed instead of being rushed!

I so agree! I bought my dress MAY 2009 (because I got duped, and the lady told me it would take 12 months to get it) and my wedding is Nov 2010! And the dress was ready and delivered 7 months later I still love it, but I am scared to look at bridal magazines for fear of loving a different one.

Are you guys all going with the dreams hair/makeup? I was going to until I read about Fernando on another thread...what to do?!?!?!

Yes, Himitsu beach is where the sunsets, that's usually where the photographers will take you for pictures, the lighthouse is on that side too.
