Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

So far, I know I don't need the photog, don't want the mexican trio, and would love to swap cocktail hour for more guests at dinner. I would like to get ceremony music out of the deal too. I'm so jealous! From what I see, Claudia is not fast at responding, and according to what people have said, Claudia does not do trades but Cecilia does. When we come to this mountain, I wonder if someone could share some emails with us newbs so we can show proof of trades in the past. I know one girl that PMed me said she would. You guys are awesome! Sigh.... only 100+ posts until I can open attachments! Maybe I'll welcome more ppl...lol!

peterpan: you'll definately be able to trade extra people for the cocktail hour, that's a resort thing in general. I'm sure the photog wont be an issue either bc from posts on here, that is ALWAYS exchanged for something.

KB: There is an outside vendor fee of $100/vendor. This is not including the day pass of $92, but from posts on here, brides never get charged the day pass for their vendors.

tisha: The very first and most important thing you need to do is secure the date and time with a deposit!! Communication is quicker if you call the WC directly, but be sure to get EVERYTHING in writing!! also since your date is this year, the WCs will be communicating much faster with you than with those with a date of 2011. you'll find lots of info on here and if you have any questions, ask away!!

Okay, I have to admit that I am starting to freak out a little bit. I have been way laid back and over the course of the past 9 months, I've maybe sent 6 emails. But we are flying out in a little more than a week for our wedding, and I can't seem to get a response from the WC. Sent an email more than 10 days ago, trying to get some last minute information as to what Claudia needs from me for the guest list (Iwas told I have to send our final guest list to the WC no later than 1 week prior), also trying to set up a meeting with WC and schedule our rehearsal so I can let everyone know ahead of time and so we can arrange some group trips for our wedding guests. I haven't received a response. Sent the same email again two days ago, and still no response. Call it nerves, but this is making me more than a little crazy!! I figured the communication would get better as we got closer, instead I am getting no communication at all. Is there anyone here who can talk me off this ledge? I am starting to freak out here :-)

The photographer was a huge cost and trade in as we got the sound system from 6-11 at no cost for not using the resort photographer. Hope that helps.
WOW...I was hoping to nix the Mexican trio and the photographer in exchange for the sound system, more people or ANYTHING! How'd you swing it?!?! Cecilia is my coordinator as well and she said no exchangesbann.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
