I saw a picture from the beach and it looks so gorgeous!! If we were having more people I would totally do the beach!
I don't know Jilly- I needed to ask her those questions after I saw the gorgeous picture. It will be a lot more for the set up... lights under tables, flags, dance floor, but it looked wonderful... Do I have to decide soon? :P
We had not planned to have anything in the sand...

That setup is sooo beautiful, but I didn't think about having to pay for all that stuff!

I didn't realize plain white organza was so much!
All but the front two pillars is $255.
I know the white organza is ridiculous. I just sent my contract back today with a lot of details and told her the things I didn't want and what I wanted to substitute. I'll let you guys know what she says. Her answers might reflect in her tip, lol!

For the beach reception, we don't need the white flags, but they look nice. The lights under the tables definitely make it cozy. I don't think we need coloured napkins. We don't know yet if we will do it, need to calculate what it might be. I was surprised on the pricing for the votives and vases and they charge a setup fee if you bring your own. Oh well, I cannot worry too much.

I did want to see the contract revised so we can get those things ironed out now. She did send me several emails today and 5 or 6 attachments :)

Let us know how it goes :)

ummm, there's a setup fee if you bring your own table decor? please tell me you're joking! I'm going to pretend I didn't just read that. I didn't tell her we had stuff for the tables, but I just kind of assumed it wouldn't be a big deal to set up, we don't have that much. Heck, I'll go down and set it up myself so that I know its done the way I want it! This will be me in another week girl_werewolf.gif

Pretend you didn't this either :)

4. Is there any decor for the cocktail hour?

just cocktail tables and votive caudle holders one each table

If I bring my own, are there any costs associated with the setup or is it included in the Ultimate Dreams package?

will have a set up fee…

5. Approximately how many square votives would be needed for the long dinner setup for 50 people?

@ 4-6 per table

If you provide the votives, what would the cost be?

$ 15 usd per table…

6. Is the bar open during the dinner time, or is it closed for a period of time? If so, how long is it closed?

is available during dinner…

7. Is it possible to have a chocolate and vanilla cake together, different layers?

yes…

8. Since the cigar roller is per consumption, do you know the average cost per cigar? (My finace really wants this).

@ 10-20 usd each…

Hey ladies!

I'm pretty sure Kimiko said that she was NOT charged for the organza, that it was part of the "additional decorations" included in the ultimate package. I'll have to go back and double check on that though.

We're still debating between the garden area and the beach. I wasn't even considering the beach, until I saw that pic with all the under table lighting. I'm still concerned about the sand and wind combination, and the fact that it would be a little hike through the sand and up some stairs to the bathroom. And if I recall correctly, it's just a one-person bathroom. Which would be a problem for 90+ guests. The garden area has the benefit of being near the Tower Lobby bathrooms and bar. Although Daniella said for the # of guests we are expecting, they would set up a private bar right in the garden (otherwise the poor waiters might loose their minds).

Ok I found it

Here is what I asked Kimiko:

"I loved the white organza w/o the ivy! Were you charged for this, or was it part of the "additional gazebo decorations" included in the Ultimate ($2400) package?"

And her response:

No, I was really happy to discover that this was a part of the Ultimate Package - No additional charge. Yeah! :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
