We decided to fly our own photographer in because we have heard mixed reviews about the photographer at the Dreams. I think some of the more recent reviews have been okay, however its all what fits in your budget. There are quite a few photographers in the Cancun area if you want to look into it...I know Cecilia Dumas comes highly recommended and her prices aren't that bad. The WC, Cecilia gave us some very good credit towards other items for not using the Dreams photographer so that is something else to consider as well. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hi All,

We need to finalise the date with the WC however in regards to the dreams photgrapher, I really want to have a DJ/dancefloor so dont think I will also be able to afford a photographer so I will have to use the Dreams guy. I as therefore also interested if anyone had the provided photographer and has any pictures that they had taken they can show us, or do you have his name I can look on his website.

Thanks Laides,

Take care,

Tors

Hi everyone out there,

I was just wondering if anyone has talked to Claudia lately? We aren't getting married until December 29,2010 but she send me an email in september asking me where we wanted our reception again because they had already booked the terrace, and thats where we wanted our reception and we told her assistant that when we chose our date. We had chosen our date because of the fact that no one had anything booked yet. I have sent her 3 emails since september and I haven't heard anything back from anyone? Should I be concerned?

I am unsure how long you get him for but it says you get 50 photos.... I think I have his packages if you are interested...

We are going with an outside Photographer and using the Dreams photgrapher for the day before hopefully... Cecilia told us if we dont use the Dreams resort photgrapher she will charge us 100 dollars... So I'll use him for a differnet day and save 110 bucks :)

You are suppose to get him for 90 min...However...We had him for little bit longer because he wanted to get all different shots. We weren't charged any extra..Probably because it was his fault :)

Hi girls, I just got married at Dreams Cancun on Monday January 4th. It was the first one of the year for Dreams and it was Amazing. Cecilia was a pleasure to work with and everything was done beautifully. My hair and makeup, the flowers, the cake, all turned out exactly how I wanted, if not even better. I just got back from my honeymoon but will try to do a review soon..

One thing i wanted to mention was that we had a symbolic ceremony and had a minister by the name of Roxanne Fernandez and I read a post right before my wedding saying how she did a bad job on someones ceremony! But I wrote our own ceremony script and emailed it to Cecilia who gave it to the minister a few days before our wedding and Roxanne followed my script perfectly and I was really happy with her. I would sugggest taking a look at the ceremony script that they usually use because it may not suit everyone. I did not like it at all, it was very boring and religious and im very, very happy I wrote our own, it was more special.

JT3 - I believe you will be charged the $100 regardless because that's what it costs to bring an outside vendor into the Dreams. So in the end you may end up paying that $100 anyways. I know Cecilia gave me credit towards other things for not using the Dreams photographer...you may want to consider swapping it out for something you will get some $ back on. Just a thought. :) Good luck with what you decide.

Sunitam - I cannot wait to read your review!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
