Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

so the spa replied and I had to send out a form to book appointments for whoever wanted one in my party.

slowly but surely things are coming together. now onto the flowers, they are defiinitely more pricey than what was posted in here a while back. Because we have 90-100 guests, I dont want chair corsages for each chair (will add up to too much) but I would like some flowers along the aisle or something hanging on the chairs just along the aisle. Do they do this? Should I send them pictures?

I'm getting married in Tulum on December 5th.  Our wedding coordinator was originally Jazmin, but I haven't received any responses from her in quite a while.  All of a sudden I have been receiving emails from a new wedding coordinator - Fany. Does anyone know if Jazmin is still around?

Hi,

I am getting married in the Gazebo, Tulum this december 2014. My wedding coordinator is Fanny.

I just discovered this forum like 2 days ago, I wished i knew about this earlier! its so helpful!!!. Well I hope you can give me some advise. For my wedding Im going with the Romance Extravaganza package (2999usd). Has anyone has chosen this?

I read a girl that had a restaurant all booked for her (dinner and party), and other girl who had like 3 hours private reception in the tent of the mexican restaurant, and then the pool side party. So, I was not offered these options by the resort, so I am not sure the girls I mentioned paid the package (sunshine, unforgettable or romance), paid for a private reception and also a private party? or how that works?.

My ceremony is in tulum then I have one hour of toasts , then the dinner (semi-private) in Don Pablo, which I dont know how long or nice this would be, and then my package included the 2 hours open bar in the pool side, which I will extend to 3 hours but i pay 12usd per person, also my 2 hours of open bar do Not include DJ so i will have to pay for that too.

In addition they offered me a light up dancing floor which costs 800usd. Has anyone has had the dancing floor or they party in the Tulum Pool?.

Thank you ladies, i will appreciate your feedback, im two months away and I have around 50 guests so I am not sure if im overpaying with my package.

:D

I think we are going to go with the middle package and just add on the poolside reception, I found the larger package included a lot of things we just didn't care about and when I ran the numbers we were better off with the middle package and adding on the poolside reception.

The private dinners and whatnot should have been included in the package that you were sent. There is a 70 person minimum at $39/person to privatize the restaurant for you.

@@Maggietron Thank you so much for the info. So I guess the private dinner wouldn't have worked for me anyways coz I don´t have 70 guests. I guess also the private dinner wouldn't include the DJ and they party right?. i would be just the meal. haha is just a bit confusing.

I think the romance package only add is the one hour of canapes and drinks after the ceremony and before the dinner.

I wish I had been told this by my WC earlier, I had asked about it and never heard back regarding it so I thought it wasn't possible. We ended up getting a complete reception set up by the pool which is more costly, especially since we have 90+ people

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
