thanks sunnyee!!

My parents are there already and said its bright and sunny.

Now they've only been there one day but my dad said the bars close at 11pm??!! I thought there was a 24hr snack bar that had drinks flowing all the time? Or am I wrong? He also hasn't seen even close to the entire place :P

I'm starting to get back to being excited though!! Had a family scare on Saturday, my Uncle who has stage 4 metastatic renal cancer had a seizure saturday night and almost passed, so we've all been pretty devastated, But things are looking up so now I can say with a smile that we leave in 3 DAYS!!!!!! Oh my goodness its getting close!!!!

Thanks for all your help ladies!  I am still trying to get the hang of this forum:)

That is what we figured, our guests coming to our wedding is our gift from them.  I know however, there will be people who are card givers, so maybe I should set up a box or basket just for them:)  I was thinking the same thing, having a welcome table with the card and guest book on it.

I will look into having the staff possibly do it, as I know if we do it will be a twenty minute visit with every person and I need to get them out as soon as possible when we get there as we have welcome cocktails the night of.  Plus, will they give you all your guest room numbers?  If they do, I am sure you will be all over trying to find them!!!!  I could imagine me and my fiance in a frenzy, I would prefer to enjoy my time there as much as possible:)  You never though as I would like to save the 2 bucks, every penny counts!!!!!

We are having our dinner at Dolce Vita, and our reception is poolside but I have no idea where! I have not heard from Eugenia since the 10th, and I have emailed her twice, as I am trying to get our itineraries done!  Plus, I have last minute questions as I don't want to be in a panic a week before.  I am sure she is busy, but I am feeling anxious as I was hearing from her all the time and I thought we had everything down.  Now to realize I don't, I have not heard from her!

I found some containers to hold sand that I am excited about to give to the guest, I am hoping we can do it on the beach after we get married.  Fill our sand viles?  Has anyone done this before?  Is there etiquette?  I am asking as we are having the trio for 45 minutes on the beach.  I think it will be a great time to do this:)

Another thing is my dress, I have it and it has pintucks on my behind which I hate and they refuse to take them out!!!!  So now I have to go to another tailor to do this, and I am waiting for the store I bought it from to hem it which was $150.00 just for the hem! I love my dress, but I know if I don't do it, I will wish I had!!!  I think it's ridiculous that they won't even do it and I know this other tailor has done it on the same dress!

I need a vacation....lol, only three days to go Crystal....Yay, for you enjoy every minute!!!

I do appreciate all of your ladies help and advice!!! :)

I cannot believe how quickly your weddings are coming up!!!  So exciting!!

For the poolside reception, they had a table set up for my guest book.  I gave it to the WC when we had our meeting and they had everything all set up.  Along side the guest book were our place cards.

We didn't do a basket for cards, instead everyone just handed them to us or gave them to our parents.  People felt more comfortable with that, since no matter how many times you tell them that Mexico is safe... you know everyone is still leary.

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't heard from Eugenia for a while....

On a positive note, I finally bought my dress!!! Took a trip to Vancouver to visit my best friend who is my MOH and I actually went to try on a Maggie Sottero "Reese" from a BDW.com bride! It fits, just needs some minor alterations and its good to go! So happy that stress is off my mind, I was totally cutting it close if I had to order one for our wedding in May!

Here's a couple pictures, please don't pay attention to the fact that I look like crap!

Hello All,

Beautiful dress:)  Very nice!!!  It will be great for the beach:)

I think I will do the same, just have people give us the cards and we can give them to our parents to hold onto.

I am kind of freaking out as I think there is suppose to be a hurricane hitting our resort, Hurriance Rina......someone told me this morning!  So this could be why we have not heard from our Wedding Coordinator?  I have no idea, now I am worried....I hope our resort is okay!!!!!!!!!!

I have been watching Hurricane Rina all this week as I have been concerned how it will affect the beaches of the area... I have been in the Rivera Maya after a rough hurricane year and it pretty much wiped out all the beaches near Playa del Carmen.... lets all hope that this is not the case this time around.

Just this morning they increased the threat level to HIGH for pretty much the entire eastern coast of the Yucatan. Tropical Storm conditions are supposed to reach the coast later today. However, they said that the wind field is very small (25 miles), so if the course shifts, they may be spared. This is all from the weather channel. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope that things don't go as predicted and that everyone stays safe!

I agree, we depart in a month!

So I will be watching it very closely as I hope it does not ruin the beaches!  I have never been to the Mayan, and tons of people on our trip have not even been out of Canada so this is a big deal for them too.  I worry about all the people too, I am thinking positive thoughts for all of the people down there!!!!!!!!!

Hello dfranklin,

Could you please inform me if you do hear from Eugenia, I think it might have something to do with this hurricane as I said before.  Not too sure!  I have just need to finish up my itineraries so that I can print them off, things of that nature.

If I don't hear from her after this weekend, I might call the resort but I don't want to do that as who knows how much that phone call will be.  I might email Paloma as I think she is the organizer of the whole wedding division if I don't hear from her soon.

I do hope they are all okay and preparing for this hurricane!!!  Positive thoughts :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
