Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!

Just wondering if any of you have taken or will be taking your own photographer with you? I am getting married April of this year and we have our photographer from home coming with us for a week, as a guest.

The resort Arrecife Studio (resort photographer) says that is fine, but they are wanting to know all of the details about our photographer. I am starting to worry just a little bit because I do not know why they need to know that...They are also saying they will still be coming to photograph our ceremony even though we have said we do not need them....any feedback???

We are brining our photographer as well, but I am not tell them... she is just a guest who is doing her portfolio and is taking pictures as a present for us.  That is what I am telling the resort photographers.  Too bad if they want to know more.  She is your guest and why would they want to know personal information about your guest?  Just don't tell them anything, they can be pushy from what I understand.

I would be careful with giving them information about your photographer.  And really, that's just because a lot of photographers don't get the correct visas to work in Mexico.  So if you're bringing your photographer with you and they fill out the paperwork properly, it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Gemma,

I am having my brother & cousin & Jazmin has said this is fine, she has also asked me to email her copies of their passports in advance.  See if you can do this & that way they might not have to be there four days before....worth a try!!  I'll fb you as well xx

What will happen as apart from the other 2 witnesses who fly with us the rest of our guests are my immediate family!

Any knowlege from past or brides to be would be fab, thanks!

Gemma xx

melady24,

We like to bring our own insulated travel mugs to the resort because they keep your drink nice and cold. Also, they are environmentally friendly! Some of the bartenders will remember your cup and the last drink you ordered too. I prefer using a straw with my travel mug and I bring my own supply because they are very hard to come by at the Bahia.

Hope that helps!

crystalz,

I was at the Bahia the last week in October of 2010 and can tell you that the weather was great. We had only a bit of rain, mostly at night and the days were very hot and humid. Perfect!

If you would like to see some pics, give me your email address and I can send you some. Been there 8 times and am heading back in 19 more sleeps!

Cheers,

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
