Ok. No worries at all. I understand you completely. They should tell you how does it work from the begining. And the reason I still didn't answer is because I don't know exactly how this forum works. Wen I tried to post my wedding date (November 30th) An error message popped up saying something like my posts are being held because i'm new at the forum.

I was very concerned and stressed out before too about the resort photography, specially 'cause I saw some bad examples too at the begining. I was just trying to calm down all brides about this isssue right after I saw their recent job because I understand we (all brides) don't want our best day memories turn bad. What I was told and now I confirm following Sarah's post is that they have new photographers and thanks god they're professional. So we should stop getting panic.

Sorry if I went in a bad way into you. I'm not criticizing you because you have a problem with them. I just feel that we all are now tranquil abut this important matter and your posts keep making us nervous again. That's all.

By the way, thank you for the Dj e-mail info. And hope you can solve the matter with GBP. Cheers.

Everyone of your post is defending/praising Arrecife.  Could it be that you work for them?  I noticed that you didn't answer when your wedding would be, yet your next post is criticizing someone who questions Arrecifeâ€s services.  Also, who would I be a vendor for?  And why would a vendor in Mexico's screen name be thaodao.  This is obviously a Vietnamese name.

I am simply upset that GBP sent me a document that stated Arrecife's services are optional, then less than 3 months to my wedding; I find out that I must use them.  I feel that GBP should let me know about this policy when I booked in January 2010.  Not only would this be professional, but is common courtesy.  This is the most important day of our lives and considering all the negative feedback that Arrecife has received in numerous forums, I think my concerns are warranted.  Being a soon-to-be bride yourself, why would you dismiss another brideâ€s concern?

Sarah, I have pics of the beach if you need and gaby@rivieramaya,  DJ Bobâ€s email is [email protected].  I wish you all the best.

what about OTHER outside vendors, like makup and DJ's....   Will we be allowed to outsource them still??

I'm hoping to do the Akumal Beach, I really love the look of the gazebo, but the reason I always wanted a DW was to get married with the sand between my toes, and be part of the elements and nature around me!

Truth be told, I don't want to stay on the Tulum side, and FH is adament that Coba is WAY too far from the beach for him, though for me the Coba section is where I'd really like to stay!!

How many ceremony sites are there at the GBP, all I know of is Tulums Gazebo, and Akumals Chuppa on the beach...  IS there more??

Our vacation package from Canada is only for the Tulum or Coba resort, so which one would you recommend staying at? I'm so happy that I can still get married at the Akumal beach location, despite not staying there.

Do you have your dinner and reception at the same place as your wedding or do you have them where you are staying? Just curious. I thought I read somewhere that you had to have your dinner and reception where you were staying.

Thanks!

Hi Abbie32,

I'll be at the restort at the same time as you! I am getting married on April 1, 2011, but will be at the resort until the 8th. When do you arrive there? Were getting married at the Akumal Hammock location too, and then a poolside dinner & reception at Akumal were we are staying.

If you send me your email address I will send you the price list the resort has sent me, I don't have enough points to post the whole thing on here!! What is your wedding date?

Hello waybuloo,

would you mind emailing me the flower price list as well [email protected].

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
