Thanks, I'm glad to know they can fit 10 around a table.. it works out for us to have either 4/5 at 4 tables or 6/7 at 3 tables. I'm going to bring seating arrangements for both just in case. I thought SusieQ had her dinner at Gran Tortuga and her pics showed 6 chairs around a table so I got confused.. I'm sure all will work out one way or another!

You're wedding is 4 months away but trust me this time is going to fly by for you!!
So when do you actually leave?? Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back! And trust me I know I'm already starting to feel like it is coming too soon for me!!! The weeks are flying by!

Did you hear that the Gran Tortuga was closed?? I'm not sure for how long or why?? See labgirl's post before mine!

before we got to the resort, i emailed karla the room guest list (as requested by her) and then told her we had one guest coming who was not staying at the resort. that was nora (photog), and she paid her for her own day pass. then in our meeting with karla when we got to the resort, i told her we were having friends/family do our photos so we did not need the resort photog for the day, just the ceremony as we got 10 pics included in the wedding package.

we had 40 guests in total...and everyone is taking photos that they had no idea who was who anyways.

if you can bring someone with you as a guest then do it. if not...i suggest you meet with the resort photog before your wedding day to discuss details.

One of our friends and a guest of ours was our photographer. When I told the WC that, she didn't even blink. She just said... ok! I think if they're from another resort and you get a day pass, its going to be harder to pretend they're a guest though. If they're a guest of the resort though, they can't prove they're not friends of yours!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
