Hello,

I am new to this site, and recently engaged as of July 4th :)

My fiance and I have visited the gran bahia back in May 2011, and KNOW this is where we want to get married. I finally got a hold of Paloma today, I think we are going to do the Unforgettable package for $1710 with the poolside reception.

My biggest worry right now is setting a date so we can get booking! I am in school for my doctorate so unfortunately the wedding has to be when I have a break from school... That leaves us with Christmas/new years, mid April, or the entire month of august. August seems the most cost effective and easiest for others to attend (my sister is still in college, as with my fiances brother, and 2 of my younger cousins....).. they also all have the month of august off. However, I worry that the weather will be TOO HOT and RAINY :(

Any thoughts?

Thank you

xo

I supposedly already booked our wedding with Paloma for GBP Tulum Gazebo for Saturday 5/24/14, but haven't heard back from her to confirm. She asked for me to send her an email with our wedding info and your operator info, as I am the actual travel agent as well. I have not received any info from her confirming receipt of the requested info. I also sent a few questions but no answer yet. 1. In the romance extravaganza package it states we get 2 hours of open bar. Is that separate from the dinner time? Can we use those hours by the pool for the dance party? 2. Can anyone explain the private reception pricing??? It's sooo confusing. 3. Anyone know of any less expensive video/photographers? Web info? 4. Any feedback and web info for the DJ they use??? Thanks!😊ðŸ˜

Hello,

My fiance and I know we want to get married at Gran Bahia.... However, we are having an issue with the date... I am in school so can only get married on my time off. That being said, we are left with August, christmas/ new years, or mid april. It seems that August more of the family/friends could go, and the price is better.... however, I am worried that it will be too hot and rainy - any thoughts?

Also, with the pictures... do we only keep the amount of pictures stated in the packages, or do they give us a cd with lots of pictures? How does that work?

Thank you! xo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
