Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys! We are not doing poolside, because I am worried that it will be too hot! We are used to the heat because we live in Texas, but my dad is a cancer, heart, and stroke patient and I worry about him being outside in the heat for too long.

Thanks for clearing things up, I still don't know why she only sent pictures of the Tortuga retaurant...

So, if we don't want to have dinner poolside, can we still pay for our guests dinner so it doesn't take away from their one dinner? I would assume so, but is it still the same price as having it poolside?

No idea how big the dance floor is, sorry.

If you don't want it to take away from one of your guests a la cartes, Jazmin said it was:
small restaurant is 2´450usd, a medium rest is 5´250usd and a big restaurant 6´300usd
Sorry, I'm not sure what is the small, medimum and big restaurants.

Ya, those prices are ridiculous! Not gonna happen....

Okay question: I am working on my ceremony....can I bring my own ceremony script or do I have to stick with what the JP has? I kow I can had readings and the sand ceremony, but what about the actual ceremony?

I know this may cause problems though since I may get a JP that doesn't speak or read English, right?

Hi girls,

Looks like I can officially join your GBP club because we just chose GBP Tulum!!!!!!!! Soooo excited to finally have a 'destination' for our wedding!

The sad thing is, I know I will get *nothing* done this weekend because I have 55 pages of postings to read in this thread smile29.gif

Hello! I remember reading a while back about someone having trouble renting the disco for their reception as there is a fiesta of some sort around that area on Fridays or Thursdays. I've tried searching this thread and I can't find the post... Does anyone know what I'm talking about? We have our date confirmed - Friday - and I'm just wondering if it will be a problem getting everyone into the disco after the reception?

That being said, I'm also sort of second guessing myself about the Friday wedding. Some of our guests' flight out is on Saturday around noon, so they will have to get up early. We had hoped for Thursday, but they are booked already. They do have a spot Wed, but they can't guarantee me the Tequila restaurant (I love Mexican food so much and I can't imagine going all the way to Mexico for my wedding and then not even eating the food at my reception!). I'm not sure what to do! Any thoughts?

No. I just don't really know what I'm doing and I was going to try to save up my questions and send them all in one email. But now that you mention it, I guess I really should email her and ask. Its just so like pulling teeth trying to get a response, I guess I'm trying to save myself the frustration!!

Thats what I was wondering! I can't remember what day the person who posted that info was talking about. Don't worry! I think I'm going to have to go back and look at these 54 pages of information and take good notes this time!! I'm probably wrong about the Friday thing! No one has mentioned anything to us either - its just that I thought I remembered reading something about it...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
