The resort has shops right. What kind of items do they sell. Do they sell maracas? We would like to do them as favors but with the new luggage limit we are going to try and cut down what we are bringing.

The Hacienda definitely has maracas. That is the little mexican mall type place that they tried to recreate. They have all kinds of stuff there!

Does the resort give a room for the groom to stay in the night before the wedding. I have heard of some resorts doing this.

Some resorts do, but not ours!

Question: How do the restaurant people know that our guests will be eating dinner for our wedding at one of the a la cart restaurants? Do we have to give them names and room #s? What if they happen to eat in the restaurant before the wedding day? Then what?

No - I saw that with some of the other resorts, but this one does not...

Jazmin sent me an email a couple of weeks (or maybe months) before the wedding date asking for our guests names so they knew how many people they had to accomodate for the wedding dinner.

I told our guests which restarant we were having the dinner in as soon as we got there so they didn't book at that one.

For a legel ceramony what do you have to do make it leagal, is it a pain or would you suggest getting married at home first?

"You will have to legalize your marriage license (Apostille). We recommend you to check if the legalization can be done by the Mexican Embassy or Mexican Consulate in your country, or if it must be done here in Mexico. The cost for the legalization is not included in the wedding package"

Our only issue was that I've heard horror stories about the blood test and all the paperwork. At this resort you don't have to be married first, so we were able to say our vows, etc. for the first time, then came home and completed the paperwork at the courthouse. It was so much easier...

So did you have to go the Mexican Consulate or did you just go to your town hall and pretty much get married again?
