Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to these forums but I have browsed through the threads and there's a TON of information here.  I'm getting married on the Tulum beach on May 21, 2011.  Are there any future brides out there getting married around the same time?

I've been reading lots about the poolside receptions on the forums.  Does anybody know what the food is like? Karla (WC) sent me the menu and I'm having trouble picking a themed dinner.  What did you guys go for?

Thanks in advance!!!

Congrats!  I'm carefully going to lay my dress over the carryons above us.  I called Air Transat to inquire if they could hang my dress up during the flight and they gave me a hard time and told me they can't.  I'm still goingto give it a shot anyways.

Hi and congrats! We are having our reception dinner at Frutos Del Mer and having the poolside reception afterwards.  The cost to have dinner poolside was not in our budget.  I'm not too sure which restaurants you'll get to choose from on the Tulum side but Ihear they are all great.

I did the same(am using the resort DJ) as I'm worried that if something were to go wrong the resort can deal with it rather than me stressing. I'll let you know how it goes if you still plan to go with that.

Did anyone have the mariachis at their wedding ceremony?

Im also unsure about the DJ- we really want one, but im nervous to get an outside dj just in case anything goes wrong...so will most likely stick with the resort one.

I'm strongly considering not having the private poolside reception. I'm worried that with the limited bar tons of people will head over to the lobby bar anyways and the group will be separated. There is a band that plays at the lobby bars every night so that eliminates the DJ costs and everyone I've talked to in my group has said "forget about the poolside party, we'll have fun wherever we go" We are a very social group and I almost think it would be fun to mingle with other travelers...I've heard that they will rope off an area for you in the lobby bar for a bit of privacy..I hate decisions.lol....Any advise would be appreciated :-)

I actually spoke to canjet (they are the same as air transat except out of abbotsford) and they said the same thing, that since there is no first class they'll just place on top of carry on's. but they were great and said that if i was over my carry on luggage amount that they would make a note on my file to not charge me extra

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
