Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Yes, I think Im booked..I sure hope so.  We chatted about ceremony and reception options, as well as meal plan. And they gave me the date and time of ceremony. But now I cant get them to reply to my emails =(

Was getting a little worried since we have 32 booked, but since you didnt have to sign anything maybe its ok..

Andree- I dont think you can have your wedding dinner at Mikado- it wasnt one of the options they gave us, but worth a try to ask.

Good question about the oriental restaurant, Im not sure- I hope its still there cause if you eat there on a Thursday night you can stay for the Mexican Festival at no charge since its at the Hacienda.  and Yes we did have to choose a set menu and only got to choose between Dolce Vita and one other.

There is no restaurant at the Hacienda as of April of this year.  However, the Mexican Fiesta is not free.  It's about $12usd per person to attend it.

Hi Everyone!! I have been a lurker for the past few weeks and this thread is fantastic!! I am a Tulum bride confirmed as of today for April 30, 2011. There is so much info to go through so I may be asking a question that is already out there. Has anyone booked a package and then not used the resorts minister? We have a family member who we would like to marry us, will they let us do that? We are doing the legal portion here in the states so we don't have to worry about it from that stand point. Thanks!!

Yeah, I got an email from Paloma!

We are confirmed for May 4th =)

Too bad about the restaurant at the Hacienda... The fiesta is $16 dollars normally but if you were eating at that restaurant at the same time it was no charge. Oh well, lots of other great restaurants to choose from.

I think it gets a little chilly in November, but not cold..

Mostly if we could do 2 hours instead of 3 since that would cut down on the DJ costs. It's $190 an hour so this would make it really reasonable. We only have 20 people booked so far including us and a max of 23 people will be going so it's not really necessary to have the 3 hours, since I figure we can just go to the bar or the hacienda afterwards.

I am starting to go a little crazy because the last email I had from Eugenia was Sept 13th and I had sent her a ton of questions and then sent the legal marriage application yesterday and am still waiting for a reply. I really hate waiting for emails as there's no control over it!

Thanks for the info! I was curious becasue I had read that some people said the photographers were paparazzi style and sort of in your face so I wanted to see what other people thought! They had said that I can request someone but there's not a 100% guarantee it will be them the day of. We booked the basic package but I'm nervous we will want to buy a ton of them...knowing me and my compulsive spending! My fiances brother is a photographer too though so I'm sure he will get a lot of great pictures so it may not be necessary. we will get the 36 in the package plus the 10 that our included in our wedding package.

I was just wondering what the cost is for the additional wedding packages becuase I havent found out yet and i would like to put a budget together!

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
