Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

After a bit of confusion (I said I wanted to get married right on the beach and Jazmin sent me the gazebo and palapa pictures again, hehe - my fault, I should have been more clear) Jazmin said that we can get married right on the beach if we wanted to.

They have white chair covers that you can rent for an extra cost. Hope that helps!

Did she mention how much it would be to rent the covers? What about color bow sashes?

Did she send you pictures of the beach locations?

How about the cake information... did she say if you could bring one in?

Hmmm... if only my boyfriend would propose I could ask her all of these questions myself and not be in a rush to get it done when the time comes!!!

She is getting back to me about cost (I'm assuming they have an outside vendor do it) - I think the sashes are just white - she said that's the only color she can get the covers in.

Bringing in your own cake is a go... she just wanted to remind me that if I have problem with it, it's not their fault - obviously.

She didn't send me pictures of beach locations... but I'm not too picky... just want the sand between my toes, haha.

Don't worry too much about being in a rush. I'm finding that I have tons of time to search and decide before the big day!

I'm so glad you're getting married there! Amber is too... but she hasn't been on a lot lately!

What are you doing for flowers? Are you just picking them out when you get there or are you sending her ideas?

How many guests are you planning on having? Are you doing a reception?

Wow, i just realized i'm being a pain. Feel free to ignore me!

Nope, you're not a pain at all!!! I think everyone around me is sick of "wedding talk" but I love it, haha! So feel free to keep on asking.

I was looking at finding my own florist and bringing them into the resort but Bahia's pricing seems to be fair compared to other florists (mind you I haven't seen what their florist can come up with either - but I'm willing to wing it). I decided to just pick my flowers out when I get there... but she will be sending me a few pictures of ideas for the wedding area. Here's the price list that Jazmin sent me:

Bride Bouquet from 50 until 345 usd

Bridesmaid Bouquet 33 usd

Groom Boutteniere from 9 until 48 usd

Groomsmen Boutteniere from 9 until 48 usd

Centerpieces from 25 until 45 usd

Keep in mind that some of the wedding packages include the bride bouquet and groom bout (but you might have to pay extra for upgrages).

As of right now, we have 21 guests and two children (ages 5 & 7) coming with us. We went with Signature vacations and they had a promotion on that if we booked ten spots we could reserve 10 extra spots - no deposit required... so we did because we have a few friends/family who aren't sure if they can come or not (one couple is trying for a baby, another is getting married this year, etc.)

For our reception we decided to have it in one of the restaurants on the resort (The Tequila). We're on a pretty tight budget and can't splurge too much so this was one of the reasons we chose the Bahia... the supper is included in their wedding packages!!

Whoo, sorry it's long... haha.

Oh you just have no idea how excited I am that someone else is getting married here! The main reason we will probably choose the resort is for budget reasons as well. Since you have over 15 people what dinner option are you choosing? Did you find the website with the menus on it? If not, it's BAHIA-GOURMET.COM ::::

You probably already knew that though.

So, are you doing the full legal ceremony? How many days in advance are you going? Are they strict on that four days before the ceremony stuff?

I just found that site the other day... isn't it awesome!!! We went with the Tequila but the menu Jazmin sent us was a wee bit differnet than the one on the website. We are having:

Appetizer: Mexican Platter Buffet

Soup: Azteca

Entree: Chicken Breast Medallions with other stuff (I can't remember right now, haha)

Dessert: 3 Milk Cake

We are doing the full legal one. We arrive on Saturday and will be getting married on Wednesday. So it's about 4 days. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure if they're strict or not, as we wanted to be married on the Wednesday and Jazmin said it was fine.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
