Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

HereFishie what day do you fly out of Edmonton? I fly out on the 25th! You must be getting so excited, I know I am. My to do list is getting smaller but I still have a few things to do. QUESTION ladies what songs are you using for your bridesmaids to walk down the aisle? I have my song but thatâ€s it.

The closest bar is the Akumal lobby bar, and it's not that far away. If your guests have to use the restroom it's basically the same distance.
The set up is (when you're looking AT the lobby) the bar is on the right. The food will be lined up along side the pool. There will be round tables of 8 or 10 (i forget which). They will have lights strung up. Then you dance inbetween the straw umbrella thingies.
Thank you, That helps.
I just got confirmation of our wedding date!! I am so excited! smile159.gif

We fly out on the 21st! We're so excited. We just want it to get here already! 3 more sleeps!!!
We're doing a mayan blessing so they provide music. We're not concerned with the walking down the aisle music really.

You girls leave SO soooon! I can't wait to hear all about it!

I'm having my girls walk down to "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. It's light and fun and leads well into my song!

Thanks for the suggestion KRama! I almost picked that one too. Last night I thought long and hard and listen to MANY songs and this is what I came up with:

1.Bridesmaids: Jason Mraz I'm yours

2.Bride: Israel Kamakawiwo- Somewhere over the Rainbow

3.End of Ceremony: Natasha Bedingfield: Pocket Full of Sunshine (My Fiancé LOVES this song ha-ha)

Yes - it was tons of fun and a lot less intimidating than I thought it would be! I think my pics are going to turn out great - I can't wait to see them. Thanks for the advice!!

Bridesmaids: Somewhere over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo
Bride: Canon - a ukulele version I found on BDW!!
End of ceremony/walk out - Better Together - Jack Johnson

QUESTION: Jazmin said we need 4 songs... when is the 4th song played? I've heard some mention while guests are being seated and some mention during the ceremony (sand ceremony if having one) Can anyone help as this will determine what song we pick. Thanks!

A lot of people have recommended DJ Bob. I contacted him but he was already booked on my date. He recommended DJ Bijan with Mayan Vibes (mayanvibes.com I think) so we booked him. I'll write up a full review after my wedding in June. I hope he's good! He's actually cheaper than the resort DJ so I'm really crossing my fingers!

BTW - I STILL have not heard back from Jazmin about switching my ceremony from legal to symbolic and am really starting to panic!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
