Krama... there is a Tulum beach location, which is NOT the gazebo, so you should definitely double check.

Thanks Keira...SusieQ....I am not sure what is going on....is it Jazmin or did management change at the resort? It is strange that a bunch of us are all being jerked around for some reason.

I will have my TA get in touch with them too and I am going to email Paloma as well. Maybe that will sort things out. I am not really stressing about this because I suspect that when we get there the tunes will change a fair bit, but why we are getting told no to speakers when others have been able to book them...you are right Keira...it seems odd Coba would allow this and not Tulum. Also, Jazmin has specifically said if we use the lobby bar or one of the others we do not get to have a DJ, rent speakers or play our own music, yet that is what you got to do......maybe it has to do with who the wedding coordinator is.

I just want to clarify about us using the Music Bar beside Coba lobby. The reason we used this was because it wasn't in use at the time were were there. Just like the restaurant we had chosen for our dinner. Also, sadly, it was a rainy day and they decided it would be best for us to be inside.

Still if you would like to use their speaker equipment then they should be more forthcoming with you location options. Not completely dismiss the idea. After all they should be working with you to make your day as perfect and as special as it can be. Let us know how it all turns out.

Hi Raykel,

 

My TA sent a super *itch @ss email to both Jazmin and Paloma about not being flexible about the DJ and allowing us to us our own Ipod and speakers. I also asked about if the restaurant tables were round or square and Jazmin told me she couldn't find that information... You kidding me!!!!! Get up... walk over there... and see.... Surely she has been in the bloodly place before. Serious as a heart attack... she couldn't tell me if the tables were round or square.... I am going to work and hopefully release some of the this stress... Yeah!!! Work to get rid of my stress....lmao

I might be able to help with this one. The tables are rectangular. For us they were put together to make one large square and the 18 of us sat round it. It was perfect for our small group.

I'm not sure where your dinner is?? Mine is going to be at Tortuga and this is what Jazmin wrote about the tables/sizes, etc:

about the tables just keep in mind we can have square tables since 7 until 10 people max per table and If you have in mind a head table with just 1 face, It is possible but max 4 people ( and just 1 kind of this table is able)

I was confused when reading it of course. I guess they have square tables that they can put together to seat 7-10 people? And not sure what she means about a head table with 1 face and 4 people... I'm guessing she'll put 2 tables together and only seat us on one side facing our guests? I don't see why there is a 4 person max though. Can anyone who's had their dinner at Tortuga clarify any of this?

SusieQ please keep us posted on what you find out.. especially about renting speakers as I'm hoping to do this too. I sent an email to Jazmin asking about it a couple weeks ago and she wrote back and totally ignored my question all she said was 2 hours with DJ and special cocktails would cost $690... I wrote back saying that I wanted to bring an iPod and rent the sound equipment instead.. we'll see if she actually answers me in the next email.

I'm getting very annoyed that they allow certain things with some brides but not others. It's just bad business.

I am totally in a pissed off mood over this issue, I been to Mexico many times and I know they try to pressure you with the high sale.... I know they do do the barter thing and that when they $40 it really should be $10. However this is my bloodly wedding and I am paying enough and bringing nearly 30 people... Give me a break!!! I yeah... I have verbal poop mouth right now.
