If you bring a photographer from home then they'll be a guest at the wedding. They can't really tell a guest that they can't take photos. But what's typical is a three night stay and they don't care. But yeah, I agree with Janet, have your TA make a quick call to the wedding coordinator. OR you can do it yourself. Tell them that a family friend who is coming to your wedding is a photographer and has offered to take pictures as a wedding gift. Ask them if that's okay. They should say yes.

I was just talking to someone today whose FI is a photographer. He just spent the last week at the resort taking wedding photos for friends and it was not an issue because he was one of their "guests" as far as the resort was concerned. He did not have any issues with the resort at all.

I did hear back from Claudia. The resort wanted to charge them a ridiculous amount of money to come and shoot weddings, so Claudia declined. Then they called her back and asked her to bring in a proposal, which was done in the last couple of days. She thinks she will hear back by Friday and will let me know how that goes. She included all the people who had already paid deposits to her for the photos when she presented her proposal, so here is hoping.

I did get those same three photos as you guys from this new on site photographer and have sent two emails in one week with no response at all. A little birdie has given me the website for the studio Studio Arrecife :: Photography - video services - Punta Cana Bavaro but I warn you, if you like Claudia and her associates work, I don't think you will be impressed. At least there are a few things to look at though.

I will let you guys know as soon as I hear anything.

Hopefully this is resolved this week! Then we can all get on with planning the other fun stuff and not worrying about photographers! I have to admit I am having fun looking for fun things for the OOT bags and when I told my FI about them, he thought they were a great idea! Yipppeeee:)

        Hello fellow GBP brides!!!

My wedding is getting close just over a month away.

Question for you guys do you think it will be a problem with the resort getting an all vegetarian menu it's something that is very important to us.

I just emailed Karla about it but for those of you who've been there before what are your thoughts on this

One of my guests was a vegetarian and she had no issues, so I would suggest just talking with them ahead of time

I also agree if your photographer is a guest at the resort it should not be a problem they cant tell guests they cant take photos.

JamieJ your wedding is close!!! I also was able to order vegetarian meals and it was not a problem at all.

Im1984 - What day are you leaving for the resort? We're going to be there the same time. We should grab a drink if time permits.

This is the one I have been using and she usually answers fairly quickly.

Arrecife Studio has been taking a VERY long time to respond to my emails and doesn't seem to be giving me a straight answer. My only concern is whether or not we will have our wedding video in time for our AHR, but I don't think he even addressed this in the reply I received today.
This is the email that I received today:
FYI my name is TeNeil (not Monique)......

                  > Dear Monique:
                  >
                  > Thank you so much for your email!! I hope that you had the
                  > greatest week and an amazing weekend is about to come...
                  >
                  > The truth is that most of the brides have acknowleged quite well
                  > the change; specially since they love our work, realize the security
                  > and options that being the resort´s official photographer bring and
                  > also, the fact that we are taking off the deposit they gave to other
                  > photographers. That last concernis the biggest one and it´s been
                  > solved. Also, rememeber that for outside vendors; day passes were
                  > required; which now you can spend it in hair, make up, flowers, etc.
                  >
                  > I am sending some more pictures of our work... I hope you love em.
                  >
                  > I´ll talk to you soon! receive my blessings!!
