If you bring a photographer from home then they'll be a guest at the wedding. They can't really tell a guest that they can't take photos. But what's typical is a three night stay and they don't care. But yeah, I agree with Janet, have your TA make a quick call to the wedding coordinator. OR you can do it yourself. Tell them that a family friend who is coming to your wedding is a photographer and has offered to take pictures as a wedding gift. Ask them if that's okay. They should say yes.

I was just talking to someone today whose FI is a photographer. He just spent the last week at the resort taking wedding photos for friends and it was not an issue because he was one of their "guests" as far as the resort was concerned. He did not have any issues with the resort at all.

I did hear back from Claudia. The resort wanted to charge them a ridiculous amount of money to come and shoot weddings, so Claudia declined. Then they called her back and asked her to bring in a proposal, which was done in the last couple of days. She thinks she will hear back by Friday and will let me know how that goes. She included all the people who had already paid deposits to her for the photos when she presented her proposal, so here is hoping.

I did get those same three photos as you guys from this new on site photographer and have sent two emails in one week with no response at all. A little birdie has given me the website for the studio Studio Arrecife :: Photography - video services - Punta Cana Bavaro but I warn you, if you like Claudia and her associates work, I don't think you will be impressed. At least there are a few things to look at though.

I will let you guys know as soon as I hear anything.

Hopefully this is resolved this week! Then we can all get on with planning the other fun stuff and not worrying about photographers! I have to admit I am having fun looking for fun things for the OOT bags and when I told my FI about them, he thought they were a great idea! Yipppeeee:)

Arrecife Studio has been taking a VERY long time to respond to my emails and doesn't seem to be giving me a straight answer. My only concern is whether or not we will have our wedding video in time for our AHR, but I don't think he even addressed this in the reply I received today.

This is the email that I received today:

FYI my name is TeNeil (not Monique)......

> Dear Monique:

> Thank you so much for your email!! I hope that you had the

> greatest week and an amazing weekend is about to come...

> The truth is that most of the brides have acknowleged quite well

> I am sending some more pictures of our work... I hope you love em.

>

> I´ll talk to you soon! receive my blessings!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
