I just got an email from Jazmin with tablecloth colours - if anyone's interested I can post it later.

In my email, I had told her we wanted the DJ for our cocktail hour before dinner but not during dinner (we're doing a private poolside dinner). She asked why we didn't want him during dinner - our reasoning is that we were just going to play our iPod. We have speakers for it that we're bringing that are really powerful...we've played it at our windy beach here and could hear it fine. So it doesn't make sense to pay for the DJ during dinner cause it will cost us an additional $300. Anyways, in her email she said:

If you are worry about the kind of music, the dj is very flexible, so you can bring your own music and he can play them (audio format cd, mp3 or Ipod) with out inconvenient, it is because per hotel policies cd cannot be borrow and neither is allowed equipments from the guest to play

Has anyone played their own iPod during a private dinner? Or are we stuck paying for the DJ?

I think another bride posted that they do not allow ipods, which stinks.

I would be interested in the table cloth options since I can not the Akumal WC to answer any questions.

That's too bad about the iPod. I guess we'll add another $300 to the budget for the DJ. sad.gif

Here's the message and pictures Jazmin sent me about tableclothes:

I was hoping to give maracas to our guests as part of their favors, but I don't want to have them shipped either....did anyone see any at the hacienda or in town....if I can buy them in Mexico it would save me some serious bling...

Oh yes! I definitely saw them at the Hacienda. I know my bridesmaid bought some for her nieces. Sorry though, I don't remember the price.
