Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Nice cake! It's better than the ones others have had.

Can u plz tell me more about your wedding package along with the pool side pricing? Did u pay for pool bar set up? DJ? Thanks

I had a symbollic ceremony, so I'm not sure if that changes things regarding the wedding package. It cost me $1275 USD for the wedding package, which I believe is the only option available for symbollic ceremony (unless you've requested for another package specifically for their features). I think it's called the Remember Package.

For the poolside reception, it was from 8-11pm. We paid for the following:

"A private pool party with a cost of 1020 USD per 40 people max and 3hrs of special drinks (pina colada, margaritas, sparkling wine, beers) and obviously shots, as well as drinks you were able to get from the bars on the resort and special illumination and 1 microphone and speakers to connect your ipod and decorated too with chairs and high tables."

However, as I may have mentioned in previous posts, it was raining on the night of my wedding, so we were moved indoors. I just checked the Wedding Service Addendum that was signed on the day of my meeting with Jazmin, and it stated that in case of bad weather, we were moved to the Casa Club on the Sian Kaan section.

I didn't really need the speakers and all that because I had hired DJ Bob for the wedding and he brought his own equipment. So this option did not include the resort DJ.

awe, :( i was hoping that wasnt the case :( I figure if all 26 of us went to any of the other restaurants on any other day we could sit as a group and order what we want.. I understand its probably easier for them to do it that way.. but not easier for me :(

Is that because for a one week stay each person gets 3 restaurant nights... and with a wedding techinically they get 4? because the wedding night doesnt count against a restaurant meal?

Welcome to the forum!

I'm getting married on 25th January so getting very excited now! Not long now!!

Unfortunately you do need to choose for everyone, I tried to please most of my guests by choosing what I know would be there preferred starter and others there favourite so no one dislikes the whole meal.

Also Ive read here that the wedding meal does count as one of the 3 al la carte meals for the week : ( I'd double check though.

That really sucks!! so technically people coming down get shafted! If i were any other person i would pay the same price and get three restaurant meals, now that the people are coming down for a wedding they get three restaurant meals but one is taken up by a set menu chosen by someone else... just seems shady! I wonder if there is any way around that.. or am i just being picky?

Well, they are coming down specifically for your wedding.  It's not like they were coming down for a vacation and then happen to go to your wedding where you're taking away from their vacation time.

I don't think your guests will be upset at all by this.

I think the wedding meal does count as one of the a la cartes for the week. At least ours does. We are also having our meal at Dolce Vita when we get married this March. I expressed my disappointment at only having one main course choice for the 60 people we have coming. That just seemed ridiculous. Our WC said we could choose two mains bc of the number of people, so you could always try to negotiate that? I am working with Jazmin though, not Eugina. I can tell you that we gave our guests the choice of chicken or salmon (as well as the vegetarian option which is the pasta) and 90% of our guests chose the chicken. Maybe go with that if you can't get an extra choice but let your guests know there is a pasta option as well?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
