Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Kat, I was told the same thing about the ceremony time. I was told by Paloma in March a year before my wedding I had 4pm at the Tulum gazebo now Jazmin tells me its unavailable and 3pm is now our time and meal at 5 30pm like yourself I dont want guests standing around waiting. I have sent her the origianl email I recieved from Paloma ages ago stating I had 4pm so I dont know how suddenly someone else can have that time. Its very frustrating as we had ceremony at 4 dinner at 6 reception at 8 all organised.

Also, do we just pick one appetizer, dinner, desert for everyone? Or does everyone pick their own?? I'm eating at Tequila.

thanks :)

I have a price list that I received from Arrecife a couple weeks back, I will post as attachments (since its in PDF format... sorry) and i'll PM it to Trisha so maybe she can update the "Official" thread.

As for meals, yes we were only given 1 option as well. We just picked the most neutral options that we thought the most people would like... we chose the filet at Arlequin. :)

Does anyone know if there is more than one gazebo at the resort? If I tell guests the wedding is at the gazebo will they get lost? Same with the reception? How do I direct them to the correct pool?
It is my understanding there is only the Tulum gazebo. Maybe you could photocopy the resort map for your guests and circle the gazebo, restaurant and after party location,

First I was told my ceremony would be at 4pm - now it is switched to 3pm.

Then I was told I could have dinner at 5:30pm, but now it is switched to 6pm.... I really dont want my guests wondering around aimlessly for a long time inbetween the ceremony. UGHHHHH

Any suggestions? :(

Also, wedding coordinator said we cannot have anything symbolic or personal tied into our legal ceremoy because the judge wont allow it. This I dont understand - because why does it matter if we want to do personal vows or have a poem read AFTER the legal stuff in complete?

Thanks,

Kat

Hi Kat,

That's strange I JUST received an email from Maria saying that I CAN use my own vows she wrote:

"Absolutely, you can do you own vows, no problem for the Judge.

The regular or tradicional vows used in the legal weddings are as followings and is up to you if you say the tradicional, your own vows or both, one by one. ;)

" I give you this ring, as a symbol of my love and fidelity, I promise to be with you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for as long as we both shall live…"

I'm curious if this is maybe because you have a different judge than me?

Which resort are you getting married at?

Yes I really dont see how it could be a problem to do our own vows.... I asked Jazmin if we could even do our vows AFTER the legal marraige certificate signing, and have my cousin read a poem, and have the wedding coordinator read a poem.... and then pronounce us husband and wife.... SHE SAID NO TO THIS! I dont understand how - if its after - that it matters??? I feel so frustrated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
