Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I get married in June and was told by first choice I would have to translate my documents But I was informed by previous brides that there was no need ! I've sent my documents to Maria and she has said at present they are fine ! I too have been divorce and I've changed my name !! I wanted the gazebo coz it so gorgeous and read the the beach can be a bit windy ! Was told I couldn't have it as it was booked ! I made it clear I was not happy so they managed to get me in but at a couple of hours early then my wedding was going to be but feel it is worth it. What are you doing for the evening reception ? I have booked the private poolside party but have not yet had this confirmed. X

Hi, If you don't mind me asking is the poolside reception a lot? My fiance is keen on arranging something like that but the whole purpose for us to do our wedding away was to save money. We are only a group of 20 and I thought we could probably just find one of the bars/nightclubs we liked to go to afterwards and have drink on our all inclusive. We will actually probably see you as we get married on the 9th. We leave on the 16th but obviously you'll be there before. lol x
Hi we are having a poolside reception but wanted to keep costs down as we are having a reception at home too, there are 21 adults and 4 children in our group and we are having the basic bar package and bringing our ipods and using the speakers/mic and eugenia has quoted us $720 for 3 hours

Hi guys,

We're getting married on March 23 at GBP Coba and have really been struggling with finding a place post dinner for the reception. I've heard lots about the poolside reception and it looks amazing in all the pictures but I'm worried with a group of approx 20 people it won't be the best spot, that is, it won't be lively enough. The groom's family isn't one for dancing and I kind of wanted to dance the night away!  :)

I see some brides decide to go to the lobby where there is a live band. What are the reception options? I was a little unsure as I haven't received much info from Maria, our WC.

Thanks for the help, ladies!

Do you have to do this? We don't necessarily want to book it all in advance. I know that sometimes it can get packed but was hoping that we'd be able to make arrangements once we are there. I have a couple of dinners in mind that I'll book soon but not all of the a la cartes as I want to play some by ear.

We were unable to make any dinner reservations during our stay. When we tried the only availability we were offered was @ midnight. We spoke with our W/C and she was able to make us some reservations for around 10pm at a couple of restaurants. After going to a couple of restaurants around 10 i thought it was very strange that they would offer midnight reservations because all the restaurants seemed to be prepping for closing while we were dining.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
