Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Have any past Bahia brides had their wedding dinner at the Don Pablo?  :)  How many guests were seated at each table?  My fiance and I are trying to figure out how many centerpieces we will need.

Hi Ladies!! Were back from our wedding, and everything was just gorgeous! The staff and wedding coordinators are amazing and will do everything to make your day special. If any of you guys have any questions, just ask or pm me :)

Here's a few tips:

1) private poolside reception definitely a MUST! Jumping in the pool at night was definitely memorable. We hired the resort Dj and he was great!! I was a bit scared at first after reading all the reviewsY&N-10.jpg, but he was honestly amazing. He had most of the songs we requested, but if he didn't he would quickly download it.

2) At the end of the night make sure you pack up all your center pieces and chair sashes or else its your loss.

3) I wanted flower lillies for my hair and for the bridesmaid, but when I got them they were HUGH... so we didn't end up using them. My advice is to get fake ones or orchids.

4) We got married at the beach in Akumal (Hammock location), it was so beautiful but breezy as well.... so make sure your hair is tied up ;). Luckily we had an engagement shoot the night before the wedding, so I quickly changed my hairstyle so it wouldn't get it the way.

5) TTD- Initially wanted to do it at the cenote, but ran out of time. HOWEVER, the paradise beach is goooorgeous ... white sand, palm trees, turquoise water, and fishing boats. Definitely the postcard look. Oh, and get the resort to call the cab for you so you don't get ripped off. We asked for prices before hand too. We also paid our cab to $10 USD an hour to wait for us while we did our photo shoot so that we didn't have to grab another cab.

I was offered don pablo but I am staying in the Tulum section. Maybe brides staying in Tulum get first choice. Not sure.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
