Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I just spoke to a Bride who was married in the Mayan Riviera in November, she said that she purchased her maracas in Playa del Carmen for $1-2, so if the Hacienda is expensive you can head down to Playa!

I am looking at getting maracas when I'm down there.  I will need around 95.  The wedding co-ordinator wrote back to tell me that they're $8 each at the Hacienda... Is this true?  Has anyone bought them there before?  I swear that I saw a post where someone thought they were cheaper, but, can't find it now.  I'm also wondering if anyone knows if the Hacienda sells starfish?  I'd need about 20 of them.

Thanks,

Sarah

Also, we rented extra lights from the resort (you can also pick different colors)- Eugenia coordinated it with the resort!

Cynlee - I find it  surprising that this infomration isn't available. I went on Air Transats website the other day and tried searching for flights in and around our departure date and was told that info wasn't even available yet. Hopefully we get an update soon!

Air transat didnt release their flight times until 30 days before my group was to depart. And 2 months before departure the flights got bumped by 2 days so instead of them leaving on the friday, they ended up leaving on the sunday, which sucked for hubby and i cuz we didn't get our 3 day honeymoon like planned, we got a 1 day one :P So, just a warning, air transat can change their flights at any time

Yes, we found a photographer. We really liked Chrisâ€s work but he a little out of our price point. We ended up securing a local photographer that has done some work for a couple friends.

Iâ€m also interested in renting the sound & light equipment for the reception. Based on the last review and what Iâ€ve read from other posts, Iâ€m not quite sold on their DJ.

Hey, I was just wondering if we are limited to the two options for the wedding dinner at the a la cartes? We are staying at the Akumal so I think our choices are the Dolce Vita and Frutos del Mar, but wanted to know if anyone else was able to eat at another restaurant.

Thanks!

Crystalz - I hope they don't change anything, it's been enough of a fight to get our flights straightened out as it is!

We are also staying at Akumal and were giving the choice of Arlequin for our dinner.

Really?  Did they just hang them from the palapas or were they actually strung up over the  area?

Also does anyone know the prices for getting your hair done and a mani/pedi at the spa?  I think the price lists are on here or the official thread, but I don't have enough posts to download anything yet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
