Fraggle - I can't help you with the flight times from the UK, or even really your question about the 5 days as I am having a symbolic ceremony... BUT I can tell you that they do weddings on the weekends. My wedding is book for a Saturday. About your flights tho, why don't you just check a general general flight search site for a flight that would leave around the same time and see what it says... or ask your travel agent?

It might be only symbolic weddings that they do on the weekends.  When I got married the weekend wasn't a choice.  Or perhaps Saturday was but Sunday was NOT an option.  But I know that Saturdays were booked very far in advance.

I was told 4 business days. I'm from Canada so I'm not sure if it's different if you're from the UK. I don't see why it would be though.

Quick question to all.

I am hopefully booking my holiday next week for Nov 2012. Could those in the UK tell me if the flight was at 09.25 would we land in Mexico on that same day with flight times and time difference.

I have read that you have to be in resort for 5 working days before you can have a legal wedding ceremony and that there are no weddings at weekends. Does the day you land class as one of these working days.

I.e could you tell me what the earliest day I would be able to get married if (a) my flight was at 09.25 from UK on a saturday and (B) my flight was 09.25 on a tuesday.

Thanks very much for your help in advance.

All the best to Crystalz and all other brides marrying at GBP soon.

hey everyone!

35 more days till we leave for our wedding!! I can't believe it's so close now!

I just heard from Maria, and it seems like she has everything in order for us - we even have a welcome breakfast at the Tulum buffet planned for our first morning - they will have tables set up for us.

I emailed her a photo and type of flower that I want for my bouqet (plumeria) and she said the florist is checking to see if they can get them. I sure hope so since I think they are gorgeous!!!

For our wedding favours, we are keeping it simple but different.... at our welcome breakfast, everyone will get a welcome brochure from us, with info on the resort, a plan for the wedding day, a brief history of us and some english words and phrases translated into spanish. They are also getting personalized luggage tags for the trip home, and starfish bottle openers they can use in their rooms during the week.

The day of the wedding, on the chairs for the ceremony, we will have personalized blue silk fans for everyone which will help keep everyone cool and I think will look really pretty, and bubbles for everyone for after we are married.

We also have some shells to decorate the tables at the reception (poolside) that we are having.

My hair and makeup are being done at the resort spa.. I am a little nervous, but I don't want anything to extreme, so hopefully it works out. The spa has been amazing at getting back to us about booking our appointments.

So yeah, I think we are pretty much ready!!!!

Oh yeah, and today we ordered my garter yesterday: it's a toronto maple leafs garter, and we will have the hockey night in canada music going when he does the removal - I think it will be really cute. We are also ordering our guestbook. We are really into asian art, so we are having a double happiness chinese symbol on a wall scroll that can be signed. www.orientaloutpost.com sells them, and it is an amazzzzing site - for this or for just any asian artwork.

Long post, but thought I would let everyone know everything we have done, cuz I am just that excited!

I was trying to pin down a date for next November, all I know is they dont do weddings on Sunday for sure. But I dont think I would be able to really relax enjoy the rest of my vacation until the wedding has happened.  So just for the symbolic wedding you have to be there for two full working days.  hmmmm  I just having a hard time picking a day thats over a year away.  How does anyone pick this random date?  Not really any question Im asking but I dont think anyone else I talk to gets how anxious I feel.   I mean I picked the resort, I pick the month, the day, pretty much everything.  And any question I ask him (because he hasnt googled his brains out about the whole thing like me ofcourse, he probably wouldnt even know the name of the resort) he really had nothing to base an opinion on so its "whatever you think honey"  : ) But I do know its gonna be awesome in end, and its only a small portion of the planning that would be required for a wedding at home. I will keep that in mind.

Megz:  Can you please let me know what they say about the pulmeria!?  And if they can get them if there was an extra cost for that.  I want to have a bouquet of white lilies but I have been looking for a small pink flower to add a bit of colour, and the pulmeria are soo pretty.  If they say yes I might look into adding those to my bouquet.  Are you looking at a bouquet of only pulmeira?  That would be gorgeous, and look very tropical.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
