Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

My parents are down there right now and have been keeping in contact with me, the resort is not worried about the hurricane, they only evacuated the villas on the beach (which are reserved for brides and grooms) because of the high tide coming in. They expect 100 mile winds tonight and some rain. Its been raining on and off today. They said its passing fast, should be gone by Friday and its supposed to be nice next week (thank goodness my wedding is in one week today ha ha) We leave thursday night doing a red eye supposed to arrive in cancun at 11:15am Friday so HOPEFULLY our good friend Rina doesn't meet us there and is already headed for Cuba :P

And Sunshine YES I will DEFINITLY post a ton of photos as soon as I get them!!!!

Pray Rina goes away by tomorrow night so I can arrive there safely!!

Hope everything has cleared for when you go Crystalz. xx

Quick question to all.

I am hopefully booking my holiday next week for Nov 2012. Could those in the UK tell me if the flight was at 09.25 would we land in Mexico on that same day with flight times and time difference.

I have read that you have to be in resort for 5 working days before you can have a legal wedding ceremony and that there are no weddings at weekends. Does the day you land class as one of these working days.

I.e could you tell me what the earliest day I would be able to get married if (a) my flight was at 09.25 from UK on a saturday and (B) my flight was 09.25 on a tuesday.

Thanks very much for your help in advance.

All the best to Crystalz and all other brides marrying at GBP soon.

Hi all,

Hopefully the hurricane will pass by without issues!....AND that this be the LAST hurricane of the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fally, the phone calls are expensive...FYI!

Paloma is the manager of all wedding coordinators and group events...We met with her in April after we met with Eugenia.

Paloma has an assistant- who may be available to answer emails or some of your questions...

Let's just hope we hear from them soon- I am sending my itineraries to the printer tomorrow (and just cut out anything that I thought was on the wishy-washy side!

On a positive note, I finally bought my dress!!! Took a trip to Vancouver to visit my best friend who is my MOH and I actually went to try on a Maggie Sottero "Reese" from a BDW.com bride! It fits, just needs some minor alterations and its good to go! So happy that stress is off my mind, I was totally cutting it close if I had to order one for our wedding in May!

Here's a couple pictures, please don't pay attention to the fact that I look like crap!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
