Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Not sure if I am posting in the right spot... We are getting married on 12/3/11!! We confirmed dinner at Frutos Del Mar at 6:00. The WC warned us about there being other resort guest in the restuarant at this time. I am just wanting to know what to expect. Are we going to be some what secluded or just a bunch of people watching us eat?

That's crazy that our wedding is on the same day and we live only 3 hours away from each other lol. Were arriving May 18th, how about you?! It will definitely be nice to know another bride there, so we should for sure stay in touch. I will send you an email soon... would love to see how your planning is going :)

It may be nice to have someone to turn to with such close dates, feel free to email me at maja.yycre@gmail.com to chat more!

I have a question about what everyone is doing for guest books.  We are having dinner at Gran Tortuga then a pool side reception...I want to set up some kind of table with our guest book and maybe a "cake topper" as a decoration on the table (my fiancee wants a funny cake topper and I don't so i told him he could get one to put with our guest book, compromise!).  I was just wondering what other brides are doing for guest books, I am thinking it might be easier to set up a table at the reception?

Hey Ladies!! Need a little help :). I would loooove to try something like this for the Akumal Hammock location. Anybody know what measurements I need for the fabric (also what fabric would you use?). I know TIseege did a gorgeous layout for her ceremony and used 16 yards of fabric, but how about the width? Thanks in advance !!

I'm going to have a side table at the reception for everyone to sign. I'm also having a stack of vintage mexican postcards for everyone to fill our wishes to the Bride and Groom. Then the postcards will go to my parents and they'll send them to us randomly over our 1st year of marriage! I'll have those sitting beside the guestbook. Hopefully it won't be windy that day.

Sunshine - where did you find your vintage Mexican postcards? I too thought that this would be a great idea for a guest book but haven't had much time yet to look for them... if you have an inside tip it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Cynlee These look like standard sheer drapes actually.  You can kind of see the pocket at the top.

When I came up with the measurements for the fabric I brought down I guessed that each section of the hammock location was 8 feet wide.  I think it was more like 10, but that should give you an idea.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
