Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

The Official Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Thread is up and running!  Please feel free to take a peek and let me know if I forgot anything, and also PM me with your wedding date and how long you'll be at the resort so we can update the Bride Roll Call!  It's a fun way to see who's wedding is coming up next and also if you can meet up with another BDW bride while you're there! :)

Tlseege:  Thanks for making the other thread.  I had a question though, I think the pictures of the wedding with teal fabric at the gazebo and pink flowers is your wedding?  I was wondering if you had any pictures more close up of your bouquet, it looks very similar to what i want  (lilies and roses?). I just am hoping for more white roses in mine with more pink in the maid of honor bouquet.  I saw the pictures from Amore studios website, just wondering if you had anymore so I could get a better look, Thanks.

Yup, that's my wedding :)

Hmm... on this computer I don't have any better shots (I do at home though so I'll try and remember to post them).   Here is one shot, but I'm not sure if it helps too much.

It was white lilies and then hot pink and light pink roses.

The bridesmaids flowers were just the pinks with some green "stuff"

Thanks!  It is gorgeous.

I am really leaning towards lilies and roses for my bouquet, and that is the shape I was kind of imagining but had trouble finding photos on-line.  I am also hoping to have some lilies and roses put onto the cake along with some ribbon to wrap the bottom of each tier to give it a bit of colour.  I haven't got around to asking Jazmin yet but I have seen other cakes on here with ribbon so hopefully it isn't an issue. I just need to pick my flowers..then decided if I want to buy fake ones here to bring or get real ones there?  I don't really know what people usually put for flowers on cakes...  but if i buy real ones there they will for sure match the bouquet flowers.

That is nice.  I much prefer the cakes with flowers, the standard cakes at GBP have been very plain to me.  So you brought the cake stand down and there was no problem for hem to use it?  I can't see why they would have trouble using extra things I bring down.  Also I forgot to ask, the ribbon around your bouquet, I thought you had said before you had brought it from home....did you give it to the wedding coordinator to put on your bouquet or did you just wrap it yourself once your flowers arrived?

The cake was completely theirs.  I didn't bring the stand or anything.  I think I wish it would have been just stacked, but it didn't really matter to me.  What mattered was taste and everyone loved it.

For the bouquet, I brought the ribbon and the pins along with me and I gave them to the coordinator.  They wrapped the flowers and gave me the leftover supplies back.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
