Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

BaileyBride2B:  Thanks for the warning.  I have 2 sessions.  So I'm going to try one and see how it is first.  I would hate to be all splotchy for my wedding!

Babyshaws:  When I get impatient with them, I call them. (52) 984 875 50 00  You should have Maria's or Paloma's extension from the email.  If you don't, let me know and I will hunt for it.  Also when they don't answer (which is what happens), call the front desk and ask them if they've seen them around. haha  Just try not to call during when a wedding might be going on around 4 pm + . I would think weekends would be too busy.  So try a weekday. Just keep calling until you get them.  That's what I did in the past, when I needed an answer.

Babyshaws: By the way, your opinion on the bridesmaid dresses was really helpful to me.  The most important thing you said was that darker color shades are more flattering.  That is so true!  I ended up going with a more flattering style and the color is "mango tango".  Orange was not my first choice, but I think it will look tropical and it's a color that goes well with all our skin tones (pink isn't a good color for me).  Here is a picture my matron of honor made with Photoshop.  Because she tried the dress on in yellow, so she had to photoshop to get it in mango tango, and added pics of me in my wedding dress, my fiance in a short sleeved guayabera shirt, and a beach behind us.  Too cute!

Christi that is so good how you have created the beach scene!!  &  agree with Baby shaws on the colour.....the darker is more flattering & definitely more striking in the photos.

Gemma I did exactly what Christi has said, I have called them several times.....I know they probably think I am mad & a definite bridezilla & I know they are very busy but it is very frustrating when they don't reply.  I would give them a call honey.

I'm so glad it helped! And that picture is fab!!! I love orange - in fact originally had orange bridesmaid dresses but then added am extra bridesmaid & couldn't get another the same so had to sell and ended up buying purple. As you say orange is a lovely tropical colour & flowers like fushia go fantastically. Thanks to you both for the contact advice - I'm giving Maria until tomorrow then that's 1 week since my last email, not to mention the ones before it. I'm going to go back to Paloma. I understand they must be busy, & I don't expect an instant reply but 3-4 days tops! I'm getting really excited now, I fly out 7 weeks on thursday! Distracting myself by trying to organise the reception back home even though that's not for 4 wks after we return!! Between that & 2 young kids tome will fly! Oh & I'm off to Madrid 2 wks on Friday for hen wknd! Hope your both enjoying the build up - we'll be lost afterwards with nothing to plan!! Gemma xx

So I gave it a full week & still no reply from Maria. So I emailed her & Paloma to which I got a response within an hour. Paloma was as usual very good, told me there were alot of weddings this week & she was very busy giving them all her attention - as she would do whilst I was out there. She did then ask her to respond to me asap & CC her in So I'm glad I know something - I worry that if I annoy them too much they'll remember it when I get out there! But at the same time, I think a week is more than enough time to reply, even if it is just "really busy, will get back to you" My concentration now is focused on an informal reception we are having back home. Just in a nice village hall, not wearing wedding outfits (any excuse to buy another one!) and not having chair covers etc. I'll be doing table decor myself but I really want the place to still look nice. Trying to squeeze some more money out of the budget & have ppl come in & put up a fairylight backdrop & some drapes. Our colour scheme is generally purple but would love to add bursts of tropical colours but don't want to go OTT so any thoughts on colours or how many? Life story over! Gemma x

Hi girls,

I sent a email 2 days ago to Paloma to fix the date of the ceremony.

I'm now wondering if you asked at the same time for the location, extras,... you are considering (what I forgot to do) or if you waited first for her answer ?

Andrée

I just did the same thing it took her a week to get back to me, she finally got back to me on Tuesday and she had a form for me to fill out on where I wanted the ceremony located, at that time is when I told her where at on the beach, I also asked her for the time I wanted when I emailed her back, I am still waiting to hear back from her but she told me they had the whole date that I wanted available so I am hoping to get everything that I asked for

Hi, Paloma is the head of the coordinator - I think from here she'll reply & pass you over to your coordinator, there is a different one for each of the resorts. This is the person you deal with from here until the end of your wedding day. When are you marrying? Gemma x

    • OMG these are incredible! Seriously blown away by the thoughtful detail you have put into every aspect of your gifts, your guests are going to be amazed! Props to you for adding so many personal touches and putting in so much time to make these gifts amazing!
    • These bags are amazing!! You are so organized and detailed, I am so impressed! I LOVE the Vistaprint stuff you ordered, the logo is so cute, I love your personalization!
    • I love etsy!! It's a great place to find personalized gifts without such a hefty price tag. I was thinking of getting my bridesmaids personalized necklaces with their names on them. I found these ones that are affordable and you can pick the chain length and different fonts, so you can really make them your own and pick what you know each bridesmaid will want. https://www.etsy.com/listing/595334072/personalized-name-necklace-stainless?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=personalized necklace&ref=sc_gallery-3-9&plkey=a8662525c53ec285c1b46b0f308162d0591edff8:595334072
    • Hi everyone, I am so happy that I am getting married to the love of my life. He proposed me and we are getting married within in a couple of months. And I have started preparations for my big day. I am super excited about a lot of things and also worried about many things.I have some inhibitions about my face and skin. Since I am a working woman, I have never got much time for personal care. This is the right time for it now. I need  proper medical grade skin care. Want to improve my skin tone and texture  I read some details about it here, https://www.mcleanclinic.com/nonsurgical-procedures/non-surgical/skin-care/, and found it really helpful. Can anyone of you suggest me some more tips? Like what I can do at home to have a glow on my face?  Thanks in advance.
    • I think you should approach the dentist. That would be the best idea as of now.
