Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Couple of questions:

How does the music work at the ceremony. Does someone switch the songs if you have different ones for the bridesmaids and yourself?

I'm not getting married until Feb but I wanted to see if i can book the poolside reception and the dinner location. Does the WC not answer the emails until closer to the date? I have been waiting for an email back but they haven't responded and it has been a couple of weeks.

We're not getting married until April 2010 and I would love to have these things somewhat planned out or booked as well. From what I've read on here and what the WC has sent me is that they don't really start communicating with you until 3 months from your wedding date. Has anyone experienced anything different?

Nothing different here. I am just over 3 months away and even now I only hear from the WC about once a week. Since the last time I sent an e-mail it's been about a week and a half. I'm waiting on confirmation for a private dinner so I'm getting a little nervous that I won't be able to have it.

Keira,

When did they first start communicating with you... what kinds of things do you have confimred so far? Have they sent you pictures of flowers and restaurants etc? I'm so curious about this part of the wedding and it is so long away still I know, but it's hard not to think about it!!

It's been a little over 3 weeks now (so I've only heard back twice) and not much has been done. I got the cake pictures from IM1984 and thats about it for photos. The first thing I was sent was some forms to fill out. I was also shown the prices for the different dinners they offer during the private dinner. Though I have mentioned it everywhere possible that we want a private reception I haven't received any confirmation that it has been booked. The only thing confirmed at the moment is the Mexican guitar trio that we're going to have play a little bit before dinner and durning some of the dinner (where ever that may be).

When I get more info, pictures, etc., I will surely post them here for you and other anxious brides. :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
