Recommended Posts

YAY!! Congratulations!! Do you have any more details so far? Any vacations packages booked yet?

Whereabouts are you from in Alberta? I'm in Red Deer. We are also having our wedding at the GBP...staying in Coba and getting married at Tulum.

Awesome!! 10 booked already...that's wonderful...and even more once you send out the STD's I'm sure :)

So far there are 40 of us...35 out of Calgary (but from everywhere in Alberta - Edmonton, Edson, Brooks, Red Deer)...and 5 out of Charlottetown, PEI. Who knows how many more will join us if they find the right seat sale closer to October! It's going to be great :)

It is in the basement... but it really just feels like any normal hotel reception hall. Most of those don't have windows either. It's still bright and would be very nice if need be.

Hey Mike&Wendy, I am from Waterloo too! Getting married on February 25, 2010 at the Akumal location (staying at Coba). We have been there 5 times, so if you have any questions let me know.

Welcome and happy planning!

Okay, I have two important questions.

1) Can we pay for the wedding/ pool side reception on our debit card and not our credit card? I don't know if this makes a difference, we would rather not use the credit card.

2) We are leaving in three weeks. I read because of low tourist numbers that the Tulum side has been closed. Has anyone heard about this?? I am going to call the resort and make sure this will not be the case for the wedding. I hope not!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
